In the US, every ambulance I've seen that would be responding to an emergency has been owned and operated by a local government (town, county,...) and could care less about your insurance. The only ambulances I've seen that are privately owned are solely for transporting people already patients somewhere (i.e. between hospitals, nursing homes, doctors offices). They do not seem equipped for general emergency response. Additionally, under every plan I've ever had or looked at emergency care never needs pre-approval and IIRC would be billed to you at in-network rates. Really, the US system is far from perfect, you shouldn't have to make stuff up to criticize it.
and in the case of a lot of medical decisions under the US system (where your insurance company, and not a doctor, decides the care you receive).
Replace US with UK, and 'insurance company' with 'NHS', and tell me it's less true.
And then destroy the 'original' and 'send' their assets to the other planet (or your offshore account). Maybe that's Step 2? People who would actually believe Step 1 would probably believe it all the way...
if you leave the US, travel to a foreign battlefield and willingly enlist in the service of those who are fighting our country you've committed treason.
And as a US citizen, you are entitled to a fair trial.
If they wanted a fair trial, they should have surrendered to the US troops instead of trying to kill them. Should we risk lives again to try and arrest an enemy combatant in a war zone? If they surrender, or leave the war zone and can be captured, then they should be given a fair trial. Personally, I would even prefer that as we might get valuable info. Otherwise I would view it as they have forfeited their rights.
I was home visiting my parents over the weekend. My mother is a high school teacher, and sat through Fox and Friends...
Wow. Most people who actually watch that would probably learn more from watching Barney and Friends. I don't know why the cable stations don't have Fox News next to Comedy Central.
Maybe they should use some music whose artists aren't several hundred years dead, then perhaps the artists could have a very interesting discussion as to the use of their music...
A new meaning for the "Streisand effect"? Probably be twice as effective.
You can download shows from a Tivo, to a Windows or Linux machine (probably a Mac too, but I've never tried it). It's trivial to convert it into a mpeg, and then take it wherever you want. I do it all the time. The benefit to a Tivo is the interface, features, and convenience. Also, the first Tivo is $12.95/month, additional are only around $6. If you're happy with your system keep with it. I certainly have a list of complaints about Tivo (slow interface, horrendous internet speed through Tivo brand adapter, bugs in desktop software, etc.) but have still been reluctant to trade it for a list of complaints about a Myth TV or other DVR setup.
A more apt car analogy- "The bumper fell off their 30 year old Dodge, and they denied that the bumper fell off or that it ever had a bumper. Taxpayers may be on the hook now because Obama bought a new Toyota in Georgia." No mention whether we should check the bumpers on other 30 year old Dodges?
No, he just asked for help on one too many jobs...

Did you miss the part about "cooled the whole apparatus down to a thousandth of a degree above absolute zero" (Note the correct link on the disambiguation page may be NSFW, depending on where you W.)

Just get them before they're killed off by the inevitable shrimp farms...

Does that mean it's "dicktionary" based?
Obviously there's also no minimum length requirement...
Do we blame the Sea Cows?
Quintin Tarantino is reportedly having a boxing match with Uwe Boll to see who will direct the film adaption.
I think more people would prefer to see that.
Don't tell them the music contains many "low" notes either, or they'll have the speakers placed higher...
Maybe they should use some music whose artists aren't several hundred years dead, then perhaps the artists could have a very interesting discussion as to the use of their music...

After four days, it probably felt more like FireWire...
Feh, slashdot reformatted /sbin/shutdown to be part of the preceeding line, ruining the joke.
No, that was the energy-efficient algorithm already at work, saving the energy of having to store and transmit an extra CRLF!

Obviously it's doubloon...
Just wait until IE6 support is dropped by AOL, then you'll see some complaints. If you pick up a Readers Digest, that is...
Heading toward a toll booth in a Solo? Find another, hook up, split the toll, and go on your way! Might work at parking meters too.

For WW2 they should have changed it to "Got mittens?" (at least while trying to invade Russia).
Sorry... I've been writing software for 25 years,
Then shouldn't it have been:
Cue "Streissand Effect" in 2... 1... 0...
Maybe Mr. Skeezy above also is the one responsible for the 'Do not look into laser with remaining eye' meme?
Threatening to file a lawsuit is specifically exempt from the charge of extortion.
Isn't that called barratry?
If he had mentioned that the IP Lawyer was wearing a red shirt, nobody on this site would have thought twice about his unrealistic demise.
