    A good move... It just goes to show that most people in the first place don't know or care about copy protection... they only know they should be free to use *their* music the way they see fit.


    Sony forcing such an action only brings to surface the impnending formalities of music copy righs...etc


    Here they have done more to free music rights by making the first wrong move... and that is trying to bring to public's attention the restrictions. A bad move that backfired. Thank God.

    If SUN really wanted to do this it could happen... But let's first face facts SUN's java desktop is ass. When they finish the 3D desktop enviornment "Looking glass" you'll finally have somthing on the x86 side that looks as good as OS X. then next is their new filesyatem ZFS... which sounds awsome. All this openedsourced and where would you go? I know I'll be downloading it! Solaris's backend is probably the best in the system and then have a desktop that's beautiful too? What more could you possibly want in an OS?

    JPG and other image file exploits the same and similar to this have been around for a long time. One easy way to hide a document or application was to send it like a jpg and then you could decode it if you were the correct party... otherwise it looked like a jpg and that's it.

    Yes exaclty... an unfair advantage but an adavantage none the less. If you take a look at Quake 3 benchmarks you'll notice the same thing... Q3 to Doom3. It makes sense.
