Your statements are sent to you on the back of a metaphorical postcard? (I'm referring to the unencrypted ones you refer to latterly). Doesn't this worry you?
And what happens when you're forced to resell at a loss?
Just because my credit card company keeps increasing my limit doesn't mean I go and throw it all on the markets straight away. Note, this glitch was only on the available balance, not on the account assets. All this was was an error on the amount allowed to be borrowed... if there's anything the recent recession has taught us, it's that just because someone wants to loan us the money doesn't mean we should take it.
Interesting thread. All I can say is, I know where you're coming from with most of your gripes... but all of them are really because you've got a Windows hat on whilst trying to use Linux. I promise that if you persevere you'll soon see the light and you'll be the bitching and moaning when you're forced back onto Windows;-)
Bash isn't perfect, but it is pretty powerful. There are other, supposedly superior, shells available but bash is the best one to start with simply because it's ubiquitous.
The point about spaces in filenames? Soon it becomes second nature to 'escape' the space by inserting a backslash before it. The backslash tells bash not to treat the space as a special character. Another way is to put the whole filename in quotes (single or double, although they do have slightly different uses in the example of not treating space as a special character they work the same).
Keep at it and expect to have to unlearn some of your Windows skills.
Quite. That's the whole point of democracy - to replace one corrupt politician with another. Basically the system limits the amount of damage any one person can do, and the damage that is done heals itself when the next corrupt shithead is in power.
With a very new torrent, everyone should get the file at the initial seeder's upload speed. This is usually pretty limited with ADSL, but at least that one uploader's bandwidth is not being divided amongst all the peers.
Isn't it hard to keep track of replies if you post as an unregistered AC?
Sigh. Yes, you *might* get to keep the interest but that is all.

Or am I missing something?
That's the real 'situation normal; all fucked up'.
It's gone midday. Donkey ears for you.
It's sounds like setting up a filter to label your automated emails would be appropriate (and possibly bypass the inbox too).
Offtopic shit is shit. STFU.

A lot of people love the pops and crackles from vinyl however. Are mp3 artefacts really any different?
For good usenet experience you need to pay - for the server and for the nzb searching.
They HAVE to distribute the code on demand.
Merely short for, 'Your statement is wrong'. ;-)
I was doing LOGO robotics from 7 years old. You're talking shit.
Minor errors are minor.
My home server is a C3 900Mhz with 256MB ram. And it enjoys encoding a DVD as a day's work.
Kids these days indeed.
Watching it creates the demand that causes someone else to produce it. They're as bad as each other.
Does the FBI not investigate sex crimes or drug trafficking, then?
The only thing sadder than the apple-fanboy is the anti-apple-fanboi. Really, get over yourself and get out more.
10 years ago it was decided that plugging in a display, speakers and a usb hub really isn't that much bother.

I imagine by that time it'd be on to 'OS XI' and using the species of another genus. Or using a different naming system altogether.
Does anyone else think the move from Leopard to Snow Leopard is a bit of a cop-out?
You're really quite ignorant about the UK.
