Speaking of the RIAA, has anyone noticed that digital music trade seems to be all that company is about anymore? Check out their website. Virtually every link on the homepage is all about music piracy. The only artist listed on their homepage, Elvis Presley, is long since dead.
What they heck did this organization do before Napster? Surely they had some other business function. It seems like they've completely morphed into judge, jury, and executioner within 4 years.
"You're kidding, right? DVD's are far too small and take far too long to burn to be useful for something like this. Besides, after you're done with one, you have to throw it away. After you're done using your iPod for this, you've got... an iPod! A singularly useful device in and of itself."
Something tells me that Jackson could probably afford an external hard drive AND an iPod without breaking the bank.
It won't be relegated to just the browser.... it'll be integrated into the desktop and available from the taskbar. Google has released their deskband search tool, and Microsoft is sure to do the same. Early screens from Longhorn show the functionality.
Here's my logic... They want to gain users. Sell the systems at a huge loss, to pump up the number of games sold. That's always been their strategy.
Now, Sell the XBOX2 with backward compatibility so the barrier to entry for new users isn't that large... all of their old games still work. Past ownership of games... plus a percentage of users that are tied to their "XBOX Live" accounts will encourage this transition. By dropping the XBOX price to $99, they'll be signing up a legion of future potential customers that are more likely to buy the XBOX2 than the PS3. Anyway, that's my speculation.
Yeah... that's a great idea! Let's all just focus on one type of crime. Why worry about child abductions when we've got terrorists? Same goes for medical research. Eh, Cancer can wait! We're putting everybody on Spina Biffida. Face it... different agents do different things. Putting everybody on a single objective isn't the right approach.
Jeez, just yesterday I read about how they were searching for water on Mars, now we're looking for Bushes on the Moon? They aughta start with that young one... I bet Jenna's fallen over and seen stars a bunch of times...
I'd like to know how SCO can possibly claim others have infringed on their intellectual property when they've clearly shown that they have absolutely no intellect.

If(XBOX == $99) XBOX2 = backward compatible;

Don't worry ... even if Bradley invented it, and Gates made it famous ... someone will be granted a patent for it a few years from now.
Yeah, but pretty much everybody is supposed to die by the end, so that's got some redeeming value.
All they really had to do was invite Kevin Bacon, and we'd be all set....

Great, now not only do the users of these IPs have to deal with an RIAA lawsuit, but they've also got to survive a slashdotting.
What about popup-blockers? They're essentially modifying the page in a way differently than how the author had intended.
I thought the one-way trip was the plan for that N*Sync guy's trip to space....

- "By Monday, more than 8,000 visits were logged on the Napster Web site"
and think I'd read- "By Monday, more than 8,000 idiots were logged on the Napster Web site".
Somewhere, deep in my subconscious, I guess my early-morning brain does all my translations and fact-checking for me...I'd like to know how SCO can possibly claim others have infringed on their intellectual property when they've clearly shown that they have absolutely no intellect.
Silly logician ... MISreading is MUCH faster than READING!
I need a picture with a quarter in it so I can tell how small this thing is.
Anyone know anyone that came flying out of the womb with legos in tow?
Maybe it's because if they admit to using Linux, SCO will release their lawyers on them.
