    Why is it that I hear about ISPs in Japan, Korea, and Europe offering bandwidths up to 100Mb/s for prices under $30/month and in the USA we're still stuck in 1999 pricing and speed-wise?
    Because tentacle porn and Scheisse porn compresses better so the 100MB/s usage is never actually reached.

    Seems to me like EMPs want to introduce software patents to please the EU big companies that might be blocked doing business in the States because of patent infringement wherever those patents are valid.

    Could software patents be considered as an artificial way to block foreign companies from doing business, a thing that the WTO might frown upon ? Isn't further cross licensing between big US companies a kind of illegal cartel formation ?

    Web mail of various kinds existed long before Google
    Until they decided 120 kB of storage should be enough for everyone. Until they decided it was a good idea to put ads IN the mail instead of on the web page. Until they decided POP mail should be a payable privilege. Don't see that on Google.

    So, this may not be innovation, but the innovation is somewhere else. "Do no evil" is a fine summary, even though Google sometimes Google is evil.
