Again Facebook does something unbelievably stupid and further cements my position that I will never, ever sign up with them.
Diaspora and Appleseeds are going about it the wrong way. We don't need a piece of software to get from them in order to social networking to go public. We need a public spec. A whitepaper that describes the input and output the system should have, so anyone can write their own software that conforms to that specification. And submit it to the W3C.
If they want social networking to be more like email, then that's the way it needs to go.
The phrase "survival of the fittest" actually came from a mistake that was made when Darwin's "On the Origin of Species" was translated into German. The correct phrase, and concept, is "Survival of the most adaptable".
It's just as true in the business world as it is in nature.
No, every time they changed history, any records of that history changed with it. Think of the three newspapers (George McFly Murdered/Honored, Emmit Brown Committed/Commended, Teen/Gang Jailed) and the matchbook (Biff Tannen's Pleasure Palace/Auto Detailing).
In the first movie, Marty goes back in time and changes a bunch of things, so the world is different (albeit slightly) when he gets back. But what about inventing Rock & Roll and the song Johnny B Goode, and giving them to Chuck Berry via his cousin Marvin? That's something that stayed the same because he went back. So was he always supposed to go back or not?
I saw no connection between my real identity and any of my online identities.
In fact, it barely had any information on my online identies, anyway. The only information it had on my real identity was stuff I already knew was out there, mainly job related stuff like LinkedIn.
The players have free will, but you aren't watching the players. You are watching images of the players on a screen: a recording. The recording and images definitely do not have free will.
I recall seeing a mockup of a system that would actually project an image on the windshield that would appear to be a line hovering above the actual road (above the tops of the cars) tracing the route you need to take. How long till we get that? Granted, it would have to know exactly where the driver's eyes are in order to make sure the positioning is correct, but that shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Yes, but Obama is trying to pass this off as being something other than a treaty.
You mean you have to use your hands? That's like a baby's toy!
Does that say more about Zynga or EA?
No! Now we only have enough firepower to destroy all life on earth 90 times over instead of 100! What are we going to do?
If a word is in common usage, even if it's just within a particular subculture, who is to say that it isn't a "real" word? You?
And what happens when they get out of high school?
Evolution is constantly pushed forward by changing environments.

Hell. I forgot the biggest ones. The photo of Marty and his brother and sister, and the photo of the tombstone.
It isn't unrealistic things we have a problem with. It's the internal contradictions.

How could you forget Bob!

Got your bike stolen, didn't you?
They need to collectively countersue him for legal fees.
Was anyone even trying to access them in the first place?

Can we please stop suffixing every controversy with the word "gate"?

Even if diaspora dies, Appleseed is still around

I would have at least filmed it to put in as a bonus feature on the DVD.
Personally, I'm glad I didn't have to watch Orlando Bloom sing "Hey Diddle Diddle" stretched out to 13 verses.
So whatever happened to the space plane that they were talking about? Is that completely off the table? Is anyone still fighting to get it built?
What exactly is he saying that is bullshit? And how have you determined it to be bullshit?
Do you claim that Obama doesn't want the authority to assassinate any US citizen with no court oversight and is hiding it behind "state secrets"?
By "damage national security", may I assume they mean "embarrass the government"?
