    Daily Kos is indeed a very partisan site. And in this case, the poster of the diary publicizing this is right. Why should the corporate-owned big media be the gatekeeper of what is and is not important for the American public to know? Seems to me that one of their own (ABC / Disney) is the guilty party in this case, so they might not want to condemn one of their own.

    The lazy corporate media in the U.S. is cowed by the government and less interested in investigation than it is in investigating whose cocktail parties they're getting to attend.     While voting machines have the ABILITY for a receipt, the state of Florida has not REQUIRED manufacturers to produce receipts for the votes. Instead, they chose to CHANGE STATE LAW that required the ability to perform a recount. And you believe that this is a benign change?

    Voting is not about convenience. It's not a commercial endeavor. It's the way that we are supposed to be able to select our government. The overwhelming motivations should be accuracy and security. Throwing millions of dollars at proprietary systems that have demonstrated numerous flaws is more than foolish; it's dangerous.
