I put "prompt $t$h$h$h$h$h$h@%computername%$_[$p]" in "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Command Processor\AutoRun" to set the prompt automatically when I run cmd.exe (which I do a lot these days...)
Umm... I have IPv6 on my Win2k-box. Admittedly, it's a beta release, but IE haven't had any trouble accessing the few IPv6-servers I've found out there.
I heard that when translating Donkey Kong, Nintendo discovered that "Monkey Kong" was an already existing, trademarked, figure in America, so they quickly changed the name to Donkey Kong. I might be wrong, though:^)
I remember back in high-school I was having fun with JMP FFFF:0000 in debug. I once sneaked the generated.COM-file into my teacher's computer's boot-sequence. He couldn't for his live figure out what was wrong, so he released the class for the rest of the day.
well... I've gone by the nickname “nihil” (a Seigmen song; also Latin for nothing) for just about all my online life; though when I signed up for a/. account I was reading R. Jordan's Wheel of Time, and I couldn't get the name “Moghedien” out of my mind.
Some people also know me as “lavpuls” (low pulse) because of a weird incident involving alcohol some years ago. I think someone still has a video recording of it...:D
awww.. don't make fun of the TRS-80! I learned how to program in BASIC on that thing:).. and as it had no external storage, I learned touchtyping by typing in 400-lines programs every day.. ahh.. nostalgia.
hehe.. be my guest. though out of local patriotism I might just take the joke a step further and start calling it `Kristiansand'. IMHO, Oslo is a very noisy city.
Nice!

Easy. Add the /SOS-switch to the win2k-entry in boot.ini. It then displays the files it loads.
Or why not learn Caml? It's fast! Yay.

who cares about Napster... just use WinMX and connect to several OpenNap-servers simultaneously. Mmm... ogg!

I grew up some years later.
>Not sure about 5.0, but 5.5 and upward does.
PNGs have been supported in IE since version 4, though only IE 5.5 supports PNG images with an alpha channel.

Well, that's because Mac has 72DPI and windows has 96DPI. Specifying the font-size in pixels corrects the matter.
I can't even do basic things like getElementById in IE...
strange. works perfectly in my copy of IE 5.5.
hihi, helt enig. hmm, hva med lokaliserte slashdot-versjoner? en norsk versjon, en svensk versjon... slashdot.no, slashdot.se etc.
eller kanskje ikke. jeg skal holde kjeft nå.
well.. hm. you're right. but at least there were import versions available...
ah, but I was talking about the European FF2.. which is the Japanese FF4. very confusing, I know..
as a long-time final fantasy- and Square-fan (anyone remember ff2 on the SNES?), I can't wait to see the result. it's gonna be like heaven again..
though no doubt Sun Microsystems would like one of those... :)
