pr0n is very educational. It allowed me to understand how to satisfy a woman, problem is like most slashdotters, I have never had the opportunity to try out on a REAL woman.
Amen! I assembled my PC from components, and it wasn't any cheaper than buying one off the shelf. I like knowing that I have an Asus board with a KT333 chipset, Crucial RAM, WD Drives, Video Card chipset/manuf..... My PC is quality, as opposed to a Dell!
When I lived at home, my brother recieved calls from debt collectors, and I told them he was serving 5 years in prison. I told another collector that he was dead, and started acting like I was all broken up after they said his name.:-)
My favorite is when I get a call from a long distance company, and they ask "Is the person who is responsible for the long distance service available?".
I am always like, yeah hold on a second, and I put the phone down come back 5 minutes later and hang it up (usually they have alrady hung up by then).
Hey! If they want a "cyberwar" than it has to be gloves off, no holds barred. They can't try to fsck us up, and then go crying to the government after we start going after their systems. I have a feeling that those Recording Industry people wouldn't have 1/2 of a clue on how to hack my Linux box?
Naive you. Do you think that AMD "services" processors? When they recieve them, if defective, the just huck them in the trash (or recycle bin). Exactly how do you service a processor, if something goes wrong with the die, it is unserviceable. If something goes wrong with the packaging, it is more expensive to fix than the processor is worth.
If you are right (which you aren't), then abide by their warranty rules or lose it? If you don't like their rules, buy a CPU from somewhere like tcwo.com which gives you a retailer's warranty for a year with a HS/Fan purchase.
I know for a fact that AMD doesn't have a warranty for OEM CPUs. I don't know about where you live, but I live in Florida, and that is perfectly legal here!
I am one of those people who assemble a PC, and don't touch it except to clean it out. I bought a retail AMD processor applied the HS/Fan that came with it, and have never had to take it off.
AMD only warranties RETAIL CPUs, OEM CPUs are usually warrantied by the retailer, usually if you buy a HS/Fan from them. So, if you buy OEM CPUs this doesn't apply to you. If you intend on using arctic silver / Zalman, then buy a OEM CPU (tcwo.com warrants them for a year with a HS/Fan purchase). If you want your warranty backed by AMD, buy a Retail procassor and use the included HS/Fan.
My girlfriend has a yahoo e-mail account, and most of my e-mails can't get through, because her mailbox fills up with spam. She goes over her limit if she doesn't check her e-mail every day. Yahoo Mail is a spam magnet!
If everyone just ignores them and doesn't buy anything from the spammers, then it will dry up. Another favorite is to find their real e-mail address, usually from their form, or their link, and e-mail them 2.5MB from/dev/random.:-)
I always hate when people with a MCSE call themselves an "Engineer". I went to 6 years of college, including grad school, and some little MSFT indoctrinated flunkie wants to think they are my equal in the realm of computer science. I always like asking "Microsoft Engineers" what a Turing Machine is, or the definition of NP Complete (or basically any question from Theory of Algorithms). Yes there is more to programming than just drawing screens in VB.:-)
I found a job no problem, and I am right out of college. Good pay too! Everyone I know who is "looking for a job", isn't willing to re-locate for a job and would rather suck on unemployment. Bad economy what? I interviewed on a Thursday and had a job offer that next monday.
I run Linux on my primary machine, and I was wondering if there is any way to encrypt ext3fs? I don't want the man confiscating my box, and searching it......
That is a good piece of information, now is a good way of proposing oral sex "Hey b__ch! Gimme head!"?

Didn't anyone see Sunday's episode of the Simpsons. Kinda reminds me of homer's car. :)

Say you try to open a Samba share on your linux box, using a windows box, and your Win box says;
"Sorry Kip, I can't let you do that. You are trying to access files on an unsecure OS."

Yeah, I never thought of this one..... I like it!

I guess American Honda corporation will sell 4 less Honda civics this year!

According to AMD's warranty site:
s ou rces/0,,30_182_867,00.html
AMD only provides a warranty on its line of boxed processors

Maybe you can train an ANN to detect these strings?

I just delete spam before reading my e-mail. Spam isn't that hard to detect.

Flamebait? I guess some Microsoft Flunkie moderated my post. Oh well I got karma to waste. I think you should mod this one down too!

Couldn't someone just add crypto to ext2/3fs? Where your key is stored in a USB FlashDrive that you can take with you, no flashdrive, no access?
