    but the vertical integration brought about by itunes and the itunes store brought an end-to-end solution that average end users could buy and install and setup and USE to build a reliable library of music and media that they could take with them everywhere. That is what was revolutionary. It brought easy media management and library building to the masses all under one "roof".

    and that grad student is following a lesson plan developed by the actual teacher, who intelligently decided that teaching this 2nd year course can be delegated to a grad student.

    We stopped being taught by grad students after the halfway mark at the university I attended and all of our technical courses from that point on were taught by professors with years of experience. This is in Mech. Eng. at LSU.

    no, its not. He is not lying. Apple is ASSUMING. They could very very easily require a previous version disk, or ask you at checkout if you have a previous version. They dont. Ever. They just like the cash register ringing.

    no, in the real world most businesses dont interface with the internet via cable modem or dsl. Ckt ids refer to the Telco designations for the connection to the outside world for your network.

    Look fella, you just cannot have that requirement, that a person with full understanding of how the plant operates be on site at all times! What happens if the day shift all gets killed on the busride home from the company outing? or if there are say 10 guys who really have an understanding of the plant, and the plant gets bought out by some crap company and they decide to go pump gas for a living...

    WHO WILL MAKE SURE THE PLANT IS SAFE THEN?

    You have to design for the worst case.

    not to dumb down the operation of the plant to monkey-level... just the safety measures. There is a big red button next to most gas pumps in the US, for safety to turn the damn things off, they have way less complexity than the operation of the station itself.
