Didn't they do this a few years ago, when they created the Africanized bee or "killer bees"? Well, by all means keep it up, what could possibly go wrong?
According to the article, they're working with Canadian bees. So---so long as the bees are kept away from the hockey games and alcohol---nothing will go wrong!
I second this idea. Not only are you supporting a locally owned business, but they're also supporting other locally owned businesses. And as a member, you can often get good rates for loans. Also, they're not responsible for all the financial woes in the USA. Well, OK, that last part is speculation, but it does sound good...
Actually, no. The e-paper itself is NOT translucent or transparent. E-paper is a reflective medium. It's the top electrode on the e-paper, being made of CNTs and acting as a replacement for traditional ITO, that is translucent. However, ITO is very transparent, whereas CNTs are not. Notice the display in the article is rather dark.
Also, ITO is not flexible, while CNTs are. That's why CNTs are being used to replace ITO in e-paper, which is meant to be flexible. At least, in principle.
Take it to http://freegeek.org/ (in Portland, OR) or the like, if you have such a place in your locale. "Helping the needy get nerdy since the beginning of the 3rd millennium."
Two thumbs up for the Chemex. I've been using one for about four years and love the coffee it brews. Very smooth flavor. My second choice is a Bialetti stove-top bomb. Those are also nice, but make a much stronger brew.
Instead of a DSLR, you can make a pinhole camera out of a toilet paper tube and make even more interesting pictures! Or you can make it out of a shoebox or whatever else you have on hand. The images are often amazing, too.
Actually, if you use the "prosper" LaTeX style (built on top of the "seminar" style), you can make the cool transitions with a PDF slide show. http://prosper.sourceforge.net/ would be the first place to look. It's quite a robust package, IMO.
Further evidence that Slashdot jumped the shark long ago.
Sorry, was there too much jargon in my science there?
Apparently, reading comprehension isn't your strength. Did you miss the bit about "along with another vessel"?

Just upgrade to tinydns/dnscache and forget about security bugs...
Or to MaraDNS or powerDNS, with the same result, but no legacy DJB BS...
Wait, so one person can't possibly effect a boycott, but one person not voting is legit? There seems to be a disconnect here...
Probably the same way that commercial beekeepers administer antibiotics: mix it in with some feed syrup.

Would they also require the pilots to dress like Wonder Woman?
Yes. Must be a slow news day. Here's some follow-up from the first time this appeared.

Not if there's a farmer with a shotgun!
The Pb-Sn eutectic temperature is around 183 C. That's what the summary is referring to.
It is just me, or is there irony in the fact that the nanopoop is AsS?
Are you really suggesting that there should be RIAA lawyer porn? Oh, the humanity!
Hm. Nope. I have neither. Maybe they use my Paypal account information.
As far as your #4a goes, RouteSlip or Bikely are great for showing elevation information for routes. They're great for biking!

For enthusiasts? I think you missed the point entirely.

Huh. I always thought it was arbitrary moderation and unfounded flame wars.
Nah, it was more of a play on words from the previous /. article that I ref'd.
I guess it was lost on you.
