I'm not in the know, but I was curious about the same thing. Red Hat acquired Cygnus in 1999, and Cygnus stopped operating independently in 2000. So that's been six years, not a couple. I looked at the 2006 annual report for Red Hat, and it doesn't really break down revenue that specifically. The two main revenue streams are 1) Subscription and 2) Training and Services. Subscription relates to the Enterprise Linux and was about $230M, and Training and Services relates to the certification programs, customer training, and other customer support contracts and such. I am guessing that Training and Services would include the gcc engineering and support that Cygnus did. Revenues for Training and Services were a little less than $50M. So even at its most optimistic, it would seem that Cygnus-related revenue would account for no more than 20% of total revenue.
Central PA is most often used to describe the Harrisburg metropolitan area, which is actually more Southeast-Central (or Central-Southeast). The central PA area covers York, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lebanon, Lancaster, and perhaps Perry and Adams counties. The term Central PA is less a geographical term than a population term as this area is the (relatively) populated area between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.
which routinely permits the verbing of nouns and adjectives
This just made me chortle. "Verbing" used to describe the process of using nouns and adjectives as verbs. I've heard the phrase before, but I laugh each time. Thanks for using that word.
Apple has been shipping its OS X releases with compilers from the very beginning; no "special orders" required. See here or here for some useful information.
My experience with my T68i and AT&T service has been, for the most part, phenomenal. But maybe I'm just easy-to-please. I have just a few comments about thedave's points above:
I have three different failure modes. I have never seen a phone failure. Sometimes I can't access my addressbook for a brief period of time after powering the phone on.
No notification for failed calls Yes, I've noticed that calls that fail to connect do not result in a voice notification; I end up waiting for far too long until I realize that it just isn't going to connect.
You cannot edit a keyed number I don't know what this means, which I guess means that I've never tried it.
The phonebook is incredibly slow I've not experienced slowness, but rather not being able to use it at all for a brief time after powering the phone on.
The joystick is fragile Never for me. And I always carry it in my pocket.
I switched from T-Mobile last winter and have had no problems at all. I'm near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, for what it's worth. Just wanted to note my experiences perhaps as a contrast to thedave.
but that kind of defeats the purpose of TEACHING doesnt it? At some point you have to take a step back and realize that eventually, he is going to come up against the results of his actions, and its going to suck for him. It will be painful, and it will be awful to watch
My kindergartener brought home his first "report card" yesterday. I'm thinking a lot about these issues right now. Parenting is damn hard. Anyone who says otherwise isn't doing it right.
Dover Area School District is in York County, Pennsylvania.

So that's my admittedly shallow analysis.

InadequateCamel,
Looks like you are misreading emilymildew. The 9:45 post offers a suggestion to counter *others* who mention Macs being "outrageously expensive".
I don't understand the problem here. But maybe that's because I meet their criteria.
Just watched it last night with my family. I noticed them too.
Quite obviously you would upload a virus to destroy their entire ship!

Fort Knox Escrow was purchased by Iron Mountain. Appears that DSI Technology Escrow Services handles that stuff now.
Governor Joe Davis
I think you mean Governor Gray Davis .
Funny. I appreciated it.
Always wear under wear
Always wear underwear
HIBT?
I'm gonna guess he is talking about Johnson & Johnson.
She's so behind the times!
Here ya go!
Because hitting a baseball travelling 60 feet 6 inches at 100 MPH with just a three and a half foot piece of ash is the hardest thing to do in sports.
And apparently you are doing your part to keep it so. Thanks.

Yes.
I think you mean Joe Longneck.
