This is why Washington and all politicians are so strongly against a flat tax or similar, they can no longer dole out favors with our money.
Far too many Americans are simply not active. This is compounded by the fact that while not active they have easy access to food that it too conveniently packaged for consumption. I love the people at work who blame medical conditions for their weight while consuming a whole bag of chips or having that bagel covered in cream cheese. People don't know the calories they are consuming and woefully underestimate the amount of them in the foods they eat.
So sugar is only part of the problem. I know lots of people who don't eat cookies, drink soda, or the like, and yet they little walking cubed shaped individuals. All because of the mass amount of carb and fat filled foods they consume.
Gone are the long days and long weeks of manual labor. Instead most Americans sit during their workday and spend only a third of their week at most working and traveling too and from work. I am not declaring that working only forty hours or less is bad; but lets be honest those we know who do more tend to get further; but it did leave many people with way too much time on their hands and they don't know what to do with it.
You can maintain a healthy weight and eat some truly trashy food. As part of a diet and exercise contest we have at work I set out to prove that some seriously trashy breakfast foods could be consumed while losing weight as long as the diet and exercise balanced out. This meant items like donuts or muffins with coffee and cream from Dunkin in the morning every work day for two weeks. Yet followed by sensible lunches and dinners which most of us kept logs for. Those who logged their food showed the most loss. That is the real key, knowing what you eat.
and the same goes for Mac products, except in the possibility there may be a 15 inch Air style MacBook Pro coming. So unless they have moved SSDs more mainstream in the iMac I really don't see any reason to move if you have a current or previous year model of those machines.

You could not interrupt it when necessary and worse you don't have the accumulated funds in case of emergency

How hard is it to understand the common methods groups like this operate on. When you cannot refute all the claims the opposition makes you then attack the opposition instead of their claims.

Simply put, the terrorists/freedom fighters/etc now have more means to coordinate, more information at their disposal, and the ability to more easily recruit and disseminate their ideals than ever before.
Used to be they were pretty much regionally confined. Now they can span the globe is small cells and still have some semblance of order. Yes police forces around the world have the same and more resources but they are swamped under a dearth of information that they have to sort out and sort NOW.
So yes we need to protect high profile targets, that is both people and events which attract people. When a attache case can kill a few, a dozen, or hundreds, its hard to not imagine the possibility of it being done. When it has already been proven that airplanes of any sort and size, manned or not, are a weapon in the right hands you have to take that previously ludicrous level of action to protect from it.
Hell I am amazed they don't erect a wall with razor wire around the whole thing and then strip people before they enter. Even then...
The only guarantee I want is that regardless of the DRM method used that the original provider of the material does not have to exist for me to continue to access the books I purchased. This would most likely require some form of public repository for the encryption keys.
Real books have their own DRM which is simply, whomever has it has access to it. Digital copies are simply to easy to give away. How can that one property physical copies have be replicated in the digital world without inconveniencing the end user and opening the publisher to loss by copying? Water marking doesn't seem practical, let alone enforceable.
I do wish that DRM protected works were a lot cheaper.

Our government is so large that it becomes frustrating to the common person to sort it out. Throw in a political class which is adept at maneuvering the public so that this political class avoids being the focus of attention.
As in, the news is replete with stories about how I should be concerned about how much other people have and how they spend it. Yet I am not supposed to think the same of those in government. Where there the press should be bullying the politicians on how they spend OUR money instead they join right in and do endless stories about how other people spend THEIR own money.
A government which takes every care away from you in life so you don't have to think fully expects you not to. Unfortunately far too many people buy into that.
Part of the expense it putting the space and equipment necessary to carry the flight crew. These missions are lasting nearly a day at times for targets across the globe. With the ever increasing abilities of drones to deliver munitions on target the Air Force needs to have its collective hiney kicked into the current century. Where the Navy is still stuck on carriers the Air Force is stuck on manned bombers.
The nice thing about going with a drone based system is that you could theoretically just change the scale of the solution to the needs of the mission. The hard work is developing a secure and reliable connection to the remote driver. Drones delivering low tech loads could do without a lot of fancy tech whereas that tech can be concentrated on special purpose penetration bombers.
Yeah the best route would be to end all war, but as we read daily the world is just full of people who want nothing more than to blow up everyone not like them. We have our own bunch here, usually identified by whichever party is in power. Unfortunately for the world there are even crazier ones elsewhere.
Do not discount the threat of this process overnight. With my mom's history her real danger is at night. She has slept through the pump alerts including vibration. There are advantages to having a small dog or two on the bed.
Do consumers in the UK have the same or worse level or ignorance that ours do? As in, any tax Amazon paid to the UK would simply be an indirect tax on the UK consumers.
the only thing morally wrong is the system which conspires to delude the people into thinking that corporations actually pay any tax, they are merely collectors. All taxes paid come from the people, governments just try to make as much of it indirect as possible to disguise the true cost of government

Top it off with how bad the in game romance story lines are and I serious doubt any self respecting gay person would want to see the Bioware developers take a stab at it.
I mean, the scripts used make the prequel love story between Anakin and Padme look downright Academy Award material.
Then toss in the fact it all is a computerized version of "Choose your own Adventure" and its painfully obvious you could choose to totally ignore that direction in any conversation.
Still, regardless of how they vote it all comes down to who has power in Congress. They can fix the problem or make it worse. Considering how much money goes into farm subsidies I betcha it won't be beneficial for the little guy.
