Not that Disney ever really had any original ideas. All their movies were public domain childrens stories. Disney just neutered the endings and made them pretty.

I used to have a black and white screen phone, now I have a color one. The contrast is so much better which makes it a lot easier to read the small print on the phone. I didn't want the phone feature either, but the color screen was worth the "sacrifice".

This kind of thing needs to be done for other old DOS games that are hard to get working on new computers. X-COM (the REAL X-COM), Descent 1 and 2, Mechwarrior 2 (original, expansion and mercs), and TIE FIGHTER (the real deal, not XWA or XWVTF) are all games that need to get done like this. I mean, its easy to do, profitable and brings joy to everybody.
They did re-release tie fighter. It's bundeled in the "Star Wars: X-Wing Collector Series". X-Wing and tie fighter are both updated for win98 (doesn't work under win2k/xp) w/ fully textured ships. If you thought it was amazing back then, it's even better w/ the new textures. I believe many of the textures are lifted straight from the movies.
  9. scroll bars on 3D GUI Project · · Score: 1

i hate scroll bars, all my windows have tiny tiny scroll bars because i have a wheel. but sometimes they come in useful, ie: slashdot, it would take a really long time to scroll all the way to the bottom of a long post if i only used the wheel, its these times i like having the scroll bar around.

besides, i've used systems that don't have scrollbars and it slows down user functionality because you have to wait until what you want pops up. i find this rather annoying

personally, i can't get enough mouse buttons. i currently run a logitech wheelman pro, it has the two regular buttons, a wheel (which also acts liek a button) and a thumb button. every button on the mouse i use constantly and find infinitly useful. if i only had a fifth button, i'd be happy. this is, of course, under a win environment. it should be interesting to see how c3d puts these buttons to use.

    10 gb hd($50)
    soundblaster live! 5.1 value($50)
    ati all-in-wonder($100)
    dvd-rom($100)
    keyboard/mouse($30)
    case($30)
    total: $620

it'll do everything you want it to do, and you could do a little more. you can use the ati's capture capabilities like a TiVo machine. you could also use it as a game console by installing nes/snes/sega/psx/n64/mime emulators.

i don't know how much a combo set like this on the market would cost, but i think it's a good alternative

I'm especially bothered by the way all these people urg us to "register to vote, and vote for this guy, and vote for that guy" and don't bother to tell us about absentee ballots or the fact that we have to go back to our home town. I mean, for me it's not that bad of a trip, what about all the students that are from a different state?

What's probably more sickening is the way the candidates and the media in general is pushing for younger kids to vote, but fail to inform them of all the details. No wonder there's so little voter turn out. OF the 15 friends in my circle, only one of them is voting because he lives 5 minutes from the campus.
