    Science fiction is supposed to have science in it, some authors spend a lot of effort to model their fictional worlds climate etc.

    Fantasy is not controlled by science, so yes it is pointless to model the climate of middle earth with a scientific model.

    You could try a stretched Limo.
    The British company Daimler (which was owned by Jaguar) used to make a nice limo with a huge boot (that's trunk for people born in the USA)

    How about electronics? Gold is an excellent conductor.

    and its not scaalable
    good for chips, but you're not going to be transporting gigwatts or power from the wind farms to the cities with no losses, or improving the efficiency of your electric car.
