Do you have any links to these cheaper and better products that replace the ipod?
When comparing mp3 players based on memory size I have not seen players significantly cheaper than ipod except down at the 1/2 gig size. Things like iriver have included fm radio or ogg support or record features so they may be better but they come in at about the ipod price.
As a libertarian, you shouldn't care if someone's selling rat poison as viagra.
The market will sort it all out - the seller will eventual lose sales as his reputations goes downhill. The invisible hand and all that! I don't think that you understand libertarianism. Selling rat poison as viagra is breach of the agreement between the seller and the buyer. As such the buyer or buyers heirs can instigate legal proceedings against the seller.
In the US buying when buying cars, the term "paying in cash" either means forking over bills or paying with a check and not financing the purchase in some way. If they actually paid with cash bills that is extremely suspicious.
He was lying. They were running your credit to see if they should accept your check. They know from experience that if they tell you we don't trust your check that some people might walk so they take the easy path and lie saying it is for security reasons. You can't object to security without sounding like a tinfoil hat nutter.
Is there any PDA that does what an ipod does? The ones I have seen are at best replacements for the shuffle. Between small amount of spaces for music and crappy user interface I have not seen one that replaces the ipod or just about any other mp3 player.
I was an athesist in Scouts. Nobady made any kind of deal about it at all. In fact I don't recal religion coming up at all in my troop. Other troops are probably different. Souting is not a monolithic as people think.
I thought that the TSA employees were federal employees now. When I fly domestically not checking in luggage nobody is checking my ID except TSA. The only ID check that is being done is at the security line to get to the gates. No one checks ID when I get onto the plane anymore.
The chinese know about the censor ship because when they click on links given by google before this change they would get back error messages now they will not know that large chunks are being denied them.
I dislike CDE intensely. I hate the way the icon box is covered up by other windows. I would much prefer the task bar thing at the bottom of windows and probably every other window manager around.
An FPGA that is large engogh for a modern processor to be synthesized into is about $4500. I don't know about the sparc specifically but I would not be surprised at all if it did not fit in any FPGA out there now.
The difference in quality between Itunes and a CD is not much. The difference in quality between A tv show on an Ipod and a DVD of the tv show is quite a bit more.
If you read the article you would find out that the only people who would accept this are people who can't get anyone to loan them money for a car that works.
Person marks ballot with permanent marker (like the old multiple choice tests but not eraseable). Voting machine is a form reader with a ballot box underneath. This is how municipal elections are done in Nanaimo (and I presume most other municipalities in) BC, Canada. Federal and Provincial elections are still hand-counted with scrutineers seeing (and counting) every ballot.
This is how voting has been done in San Diego County in California for the past couple of elections. I personally don't think that the touch screens are going to be adding much but expense.
Please point out the much cheaper 30 and 60 gig mp3 players. The ones I see are all basically the same price.

The San Jose air port is a product of silicon valley. You are mixing cause and effect.

Cringely, or at least this one, does not work for Infoworld. The column is on the NPR website.
The ipod killer will have to be less expensive by a pretty good margin.

No podcasts don't stream. You don't stream to your ipod you download and copy to your ipod.

The way things are going you probably won't get either.

The criteria for Time's Man of the Year is the man who had the most influence on news that year. Nothing about it being an influence for good.
I notice that the list did not have the formation of the nazi party on it.

What the fuck stations do you listen to. I never hear ads for home businesses or herbal aids.

Well that is the sports section. I don't think anyone believes that sports writers are the sharpest knives in the drawer.

Just as I suscepted they were responsible for that stupid neon lighting under cars.
