    I am in his district and was not planning on voting for him this year, however he may get my vote again this time. Bad on some issues, but great on tech stuff. Also, he rarely has any competition.

    If they call it an invoice and mail it to her, it is then mail fraud. She don't not owe them anything untill they get a judgement from the court. What they have been offering is a settlement in exchange for not sueing.

    but there is no debt or contract between her and the RIAA, why is the debt collector involed? IF I send you a letter demanding 3000 grand or I will take you to court, I can't just tell some collection agency you owe me 3000 grand now.

    Somebody has some explaining to do and its not just comcast.

    The lady has a case against the collections agency and the RIAA for volations of the Fair Debt collection act too. Debt collection is regulated somewhat.

    you folks don't understand the the differance between a 10-99 and W-2 contractor. W-2 Contractors damm sure don't make more money the employees, their agency get the FTE's base salary and divides it up. There is no come onboard anymore at a lot of places. Check out Capital One.

    No, you are the new model employee. This is growing everyday as more and more companies do it. There will be no FTE's in the future except in management.

    amen brother, I have been on one of these gigs working at the same place for the last 4 years. I am looking forward to what happens to them. This year's excuse was there is a hiring freeze, but I did get a nice raise to stay on. Talk to me at the end of the year and see if I am a FTE.

    I agree Microsoft and the spyware have made sure I am not going to be laid off anytime in the near future. Lots of people looking for desktop support techs. I could be working every night cleaning co-workers home computers.

    Last year or the year before last, they started looking at all of their IP for SCO type issues or money makers. This was one of them. IBM, 3M, Dupont, and GE have a lot of patents in the piggy bank too. Honeywell needs the income or certain managers need to have something to manage.

    Not great but not too bad. Most of their problems are related to the high oil prices. Aerospace and the Chemical side are taking a beating and have been since 9/11. A failed merger with GE (Thanks EU) didn't help either.

    20 to 30 dollars a barrel of oil and its a gold mine.
