  1. I suppose... on Etsy Hacker Grants Support Female Programmers · · Score: 1

Having females at all in the hacker college is good, for some reason? I don't see how there's any inherent higher value of an woman versus an equally-skilled man; why not make this a merit/financial circumstance based grant?

  2. Re:Dead language? on Firefox Demos Prototype Metro Interface · · Score: 1

Yes, bastion of intellect, coding applications for an unreleased version of the most popular consumer Operating System is the dumbest idea.

They agreed to write for free, there's no unjust enrichment if you stated that there's no expectation of compensation at any turn. I hope some other cases go by this precedent, I don't want people taking me to court for cash from my small business.

  4. Re:tin can telephones on Ask Slashdot: How Would Room-Temp Superconductors Affect Us? · · Score: 1

I'm wondering what the exact property of a superconductor is that makes this possible? It seems like it would be excellent for use in microphones, artificial ears, and perhaps artificial vocal chords? That's interesting, I've never heard that of superconductors before.

Okay, you made a whole hubbub about choice, but still haven't explained why quad-core would be a good choice. I think the debate is over whether or not quad-core is worth it, not if there should be a right to choose.

Cloud computing seems to suggest otherwise. I'm sure it was cheaper to get out of PCs before the general PC profit margins decrease dramatically as people move toward dumb terminals once again. It's not entirely a good thing.

Does this mean that life on exoplanets without deep seas and hydrothermal vents is still possible? Perhaps a more arid world, where water isn't quite as common as on Earth. I'm interested to see what implications this has for the search for life. It could expand the possible amount of planets that are likely to evolve life.

Actually, as noted in the internal Intel Medfield slideshow, the biggest issue there is thinness. There's a lot of hardware required to maintain that Atom, along with a battery. I'm surprised that Intel was able to get their mobile dreams realized, though. Here's hoping they pan out, I suppose. You seem very defensive, though. Calm down, the only thing to do in this case is wait for products with Intel chips to come to market.
