This bill would provide that these provisions would not apply to a person who electronically disseminates a commercial recording to his or her immediate family or within his or her personal network, as defined, to a situation in which the copyright owner has explicitly given permission for or licensed the recording or audiovisual work to be freely disseminated, electronically disseminated, or disseminated by means of a cable television service.
the price jumping 50% is only due to the fact that the workers in the dept. haven't changed the tags. Price changes come down from the home office, automatically print out on a printer in the back and its the responsibility of the floor associates to fix them. Its not "shady cash register scams". Of course that doesn't make it right, its not a "scam", they're not out to "get you". Walmart is a pretty ethical company, if you actually work there, you'll see that. People just like to blow up on them because they have alot of money.
Just an FYI, the Secret Service is under the Department of the Treasury, not the Department of Justice. I didn't read every reply so this might have been posted before.
Just so there isn't a bunch of FUD being spread, the limit is on INCOMPLETE outbound connections. There is no limit on COMPLETED connections. This should only affect network scanners such as nmap.
yeah, I see your point. Nothing's perfect:) What I would do personally is setup a party mix and let it run. Of course if you have a laptop you could either remote into the machine playing to the express or you could share your iTunes, play them with iTunes on the laptop and stream from the laptop to the express. Whew. Or, they could come up with a PDA app for remote control. Hey, that'd be cool 8D
As a former employee (in the store, not at ISD) I know that most of that 240 terabytes is going to be in a database, not just files. I know Walmart keeps alot of stuff a secret, but they are rather proud of their IT stuff, and I'm surprised it didn't make the list

and what are the chances that this really happens? slim to none. we do have a little thing called democracy here, and when these types of laws started getting passed, I'm sure that we'd start to vote out our representatives.
They ask for your zip code only if you use American Express, and its for verification purposes to make sure you are you. If you give them the wrong Zip code your AmEx won't go through. Its not stored in a database and it doesn't track your purchases. Wal-mart doesn't NEED to track your purchases. They don't do that kind of marketing. They USED to call 14 customers from each store to do a survey but they don't even do that anymore because of new survey invites you'll notice on top of your reciepts.
If you are going to choose retail for IT, choose wal-mart. though i'm not in ISD yet, its a very technology oriented company and they're not afraid to spend a little money to get some good product out.
You really need to grow up. Alabama is not so backwards as you think. Just a few days/weeks ago NASA announced a new NOC at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville. The University of Alabama at Birmingham is probably the best medical school in the Southeast and is one of the best in the entire nation. Alabama is also the home to several new automobile manufacturers such as Mercedes, Honda, and Hyundai. If you look at the cities of Alabama, most do not have the major crime problems of other cities. Sure, Alabama has its problems, but so does every state. When you bash Alabama with uneducated quotes like that, you simply make yourself and the state you live in look ignorant.
And I bet you don't see the irony in the fact that Wal-Mart.com (actually a separate company from Walmart Corporation, its a parnership between Walmart and another tech company) is headquartered in Silicon Valley.
this has gone too far. people cannot blame TV and video games for violence in society. don't like Jackass on mtv? turn off the TV! dont like quake 3? dont buy it! dont like websites that advertise for X violent game? Dont visit! That is the basis of america. Free speech. freedom of choice. freedom of or FROM religons. I am personally ashamed to have supported al gore and joe lieberman now that they are so outspoken against freedom of speech and expression. i'm so tired of hearing people blame tv, games, books, etc. for problems in society. the problems stem from parents being so lazy that instead of parenting their children, they put them in front of the tv/computer/video game to babysit, and then they are upset because the tv/computer/video game is too violent. there are several church based and non-violent games/tv stations/books out there. if you dont want your kids setting themselves on fire because they saw it on jackass, tell them "now little jimmy, if you set your self on fire, its going to burn you. he's a trained professional, you're not" if you dont want your kids to shoot up his/her school, tell them "now little jimmy, if you go shoot your friends, you'll go to jail for a long long time, and your friends will not be here with us any more" the problem is not with kids seeing violence on tv. they need to see it, to know how the world really is, maybe not at a young age, but that should be up to the parents, not the govt, or some trade group. if parents would guide their children as they watch violent movies, watch sexual tv shows, play violent video games, then we'd have a better society. i hope that if the idsa adopts these standards that gaming companies withdraw from it or boycott it. we should write our congressmen, senators, etc to show them that we are against regulation and denial of our first amendment rights. i dont understand why the right believes they have the right to force their ideologies onto us. if we dont want to follow their standards, we dont have to. we dont have to listen to jerry falwell tell us how bad we are. some people dont care if they go to hell, so dont tell them that they are. people have a mind of their own and dont need some religous nut up on a stand taking the bible to extremes. i am not atheist or anti-religon, but some people are, and that's their choice
actually, echostar is considering buying replaytv, maybe we'll see a replay-dish network reciever like the directv-tivo unit...hopefully it'll be microsoft free (microsoft software has caused most problems in the dishplayer product)
There are exceptions....

Now, I haven't read the article yet, so I dont know the context, but isn't a computer running iTunes supposed to be the remote control?

It all depends on what type of engineering. UAB is good for biomedical engineering, and Auburn is good for civil engineering.
