    Not only that, but this only shows that there's more Cesium 137 in that wine. But where's the 'Fukushima' signature? Are all other sources of previously unmeasurable amounts of Cesium 137 ruled out?

    Windows 10 greets me with a security warning every month, because I have switched off the option of submitting code samples for virus protection.
    I develop my own software and I do *not* want it to go to Microsoft.

    Every month I have to re-affirm that I have opted out of delivering my software to them. Stop that sh*t!

    That's what I do all the time. Got my own domain, with a few email accounts but unlimited alias ability.

    Whenever I must register for something with company-x, I create an email alias 'company-x@myowndomain.com'. If company-x gets breached, sells my data or simply starts spamming me, I can now stop emails coming in whenever I want by removing the alias.

  6. You asked a very relevant and very proper question. Nothing on SO indicates race, gender or ethnicity. These are being dragged into every single aspect of life, as if group identity is some kind of special treat. Seems like you can't touch a subject or there will be special butt-hurt snowflakes demanding their special safe space bubble to be kept unafected by reality.

    I'm with you. I too want to know how the OP came to this conclusion that this is even an issue, and if there is any relevant data to support the OP's position. Which is what is required in a civilized discussion between grown-ups, but apparently not in entitlement-claiming funny farms.

  14. The raids were conducted within 48 hours of the 'coup'. That can mean two things. Either the Turks have an incredible intelligence system that can pinpoint tens of thousands of 'guilty people' in such a short time, locate and capture them in no time. Or they planned this all months in advance and the whole coup was faked.

    My money is on option two.

    The problem isn't even with the batteries. Just try to estimate what kind of electrical infrastructure must be laid to charge those batteries back up to full charge, in 30 minutes max. Kerosine delivers about 10kWh per liter. Take the amount of energy in, say 6000 liters of kerosine (737-800 short-haul trip). that's 60MWh. Try charging that in 30 minutes.

    .. you and your family do *not* need a 'smart' television. No you don't. If you can't buy a simple one anymore, make sure it is not connected to any internet/wifi point, as the 'services' turn you from a consumer into a product. As you probably already are on Facebook, Twitter etc.

    Most likely because many DOS programs back then were designed and written to run on even earlier CPU's like 8086 or 80286'es.. It will run those, but runs 80386 optimized programs best.

  23. Pull the cable to the internet. There is NO excuse to hook up critical infrastructure to the internet. None whatsoever! If you need constant monitoring of stuff, give someone a job to monitor. Do not, I repear, do NOT hook your systems up to the internet just to save a quick buck!
