Sure, they may be unjust and spaghetti laws, but the 'Ministry of Love Spaghetti Sauce' that comes with is to die for.

Colour me naive, but would a judge really authorise a warrant for something that is plainly frivolous?

Is this -really- as bad as it appears?

Interesting concept, to be sure, but what makes a Scientist turn -that- bad? He should be designing city-busting robots, freakish monsters, hell he's an astrophysicist, he should be desiging black holes...

    Damned marketing.

Didn't they only provide songs that the copyright holder gave them permission for? From what I've heard and seen, Audiogalaxy removed songs that were copyright violations quite quickly, and had filtering software that blocked them from coming back.

No. 'Everyone' means the recipients of GPL'ed software that incorporates said patent. Which means, that they can release GPL'ed software based on the patent, and anyone can make changes to it and freely distribute it.

The GPL does not force someone to release all rights to a patent. RedHat -CAN- charge proprietary vendors for using the concept under patent, or prohibit the use of the concept altogether. All the GPL states is, that if you have a software patent and you want to release GPL software, you disclaim any licensing fees regarding the use of the patent.
