I am in favour of piracy to an extent. After all, you shouldn't be forced to pay for something you hate just because it is well advertised. These people are actively encouraging people to never pay for content, which I am against. This hurts the creators abilities to get paid. If you like it, go pay for it. Support the content you like.
Those that have few morals and have a vested interest in something will try to misdirect people, and those with lower intelligence are more likely to fall for it...

Notice that last part, "mental or physical disability". If a company discriminates against someone with a mental disability in Canada, they had best be prepared for some legal action to be taken. Also, look up the difference between a psychopath and someone with Schizophrenia.
I am not talking about consumer rights, I am talking about the company using their own mistake to make profit. instead, they are spending more for legal action, in addition to lost business and shipping costs, than they could potentially make by advertising their error, and letting the consumer keep the PS Vitas as gifts to the customer from the company for their mistake. By doing this, brand recognition would increase in a positive way, and it creates the possibility for mass spending in hopes of another error. Even if they only gain a handful of customers by doing this, there is a net gain over time. By doing what they are doing now, there will likely be a large number of negative reviews put online, scaring potential customers away.
Also, the right to keep them as gifts in this case depends on the country in which the consumer lives.
Personally, unless it was a crippling blow to the company, I would have made a big fuss about how anyone that received them could keep them as gifts. It would not only reflect well on the company, but depending on how well they advertised it, and how well news agencies covered it, it could create a massive boost to sales while people order tons of items while hoping for another error to happen.

For articles like this, I do a quick skim of the conversations, and if I feel like it, add my two cents. As for making under $20 an hour, I do not see how paying close attention to/. conversations will impress my boss enough to give me a raise.
That this isn't common knowledge to most is surprising to me. World population is growing exponentially, we are consuming resources faster than they can be replaced, and people not fit to lead are leading many countries. I don't know if the year of this happening is right, but we will eventually crash and burn. This could be due to war, famine, mass civil disruption, running out of resources, over-population, or any number of other ways I have not thought of. Going green may put this on hold for a while, or it may not, but there must eventually be a culling of the human race.
I would have to agree that the punishment needs to be altered to fit the crime, but I think your estimate is way off. A song costs about a dollar, and a movie costs about 5. So for 10000 pirated songs it should be $10,000.00, and for 10000 pirated movies (who pirates that many movies or songs anyways?) it should be $50,000.00.
This way the companies get the actual price of what was stolen, the pirate pays for exactly what has been downloaded, plus a cent or two per song or movie for the effort the company and court had to go through to catch the thief.
I may be against what big corporations are doing to the average person, but I also think that people screwing the corporations is wrong as well, just not on the same level.
What they are asking is for those blogs etc. to censor themselves. Why not just ask them to append their statement to the posts, which will make their claims look more legitimate as well as making people not think they are hiding something devious.
The best way to teach or to learn depends entirely on the individual. This is the second article I have seen on this attempting to figure out the "best" way to teach, yet they never bring up having a variety of learning environments. By having a variety of learning environments, the professors can teach using the method that suits them best, and the students can choose the learning style that suits them best. By attempting to find the best way to teach they also help to undermine the individuals that do not learn as well using those methods.
I do hope you have read the CRTC's statutes and Regulations acts before you did this. The thing that makes it illegal for FOX news to broadcast in Canada is the fact that it has been proven in court that they willfully lied on the news. This is illegal because it is illegal for news broadcasters to broadcast false or misleading news in Canada.
Actually, having U.S. satellite dishes in Canada was made illegal (what was it? 10 years ago? I can't remember) because U.S. broadcasting corporations were accusing Canadians of stealing content. In order to comply with their complaints, and to make sure that U.S. corporations that sell these services in Canada follow Canadian law, they made it illegal.
I actually agree with this decision as it takes FOX news out of Canada for being a "news channel" but lying during the news.
I do not believe it would. Part of education today is learning how to use resources like the internet, and sometimes databases specific to the material you are learning. Granted, this is normally simple for people that are tech-savvy, however, there are people that need to learn how to take proper advantage of resources like the internet, otherwise they will stay close-minded and not use it at all, reducing their efficiency and knowledge.
I think the article was helpful actually. I am the type of person that ends up carrying a lot on my person, and this article tells me of something I didn't know about.
Why wouldn't he pack the toy gun? I think it would have been great for a laugh! And if you are afraid of the possible cavity search, just eat some beans a few hours before, and you get a possible second laugh!
