So I suppose human beings shouldn't engage in any emotionally stimulationg activities? Instead of watching high tech machines push the envelope of power, grip, technology, dynamics and mechanics while competing for a top spot, we should do what exactly? Go to church? Read fiction? Take up knitting?
If you ask me, it is the most pointless exercise to mandate what others should find worthwhile and rewarding.
Jeff Gordon is arguably the best road track driver in NASCAR. The F1 driver you're talking about was Montoya. His style of driving is very harsh. He likes to swing the wheel every which way, and get the car sideways, so maybe that contributed to his uneasiness with the car.
As far as strategy, there's plenty of it in F1. Anything from fuel strategy, to tyres, to what time to pit in order to get a clear bit of track, to whether to take more fuel during qualitying and sacrifice your starting position to get a longer first stint.
And just like NASCAR, there are many rule changes in F1, sometimes even mid season.
The difference in the gaps between F1 and NASCAR are, I think, largely due to F1 not having a pace car out every 10 laps, or every time there is a bit of debris on the track.
Regarding Rockefeller, as far as I know, at the time when he would have gone into service, his mother was caring for 2 other kids. And his father was a snake oil salesman who would be absend for months on end, leaving them unsure of whether he'd ever be back to pay for the credit they took out at the local food shop.
John D. decided to spend the $300 for a substitute and instead improve his business skills -- by starting a trading company in Cleveland -- to break free of the depenance on his father, whom he mostly despised.
I'm not sure that he was as evil as you'd like to believe him to have been.
We had that happen to the company I work for. They hit a number of addresses, and with the various spam filters and challange-response programs that process each message, the thousands of fake bounces made the server unusable until we started deleting all mail to those particular addresses.
I'm sure just as many "business" people at Apple and elsewhere were saying the same thing. That's why every time a product is released and marketed, there is great risk taken because no one can predict how it will do. If it were sureshot, everyone would be in business.
I agree that music stations really suck. Between the commercials and shallow playlists.
But why not give consumers the option and the alternative? There's the occasional gem on the radio, whether it be a song you haven't heard in a long time, or ever, and like, or a celebrity being a guest on a talk show.
I do not understand why AM/FM is of "dubious quality" to so many people. Doesn't anyone listen to Stern? NPR? AM talk? News, sports and weather? Random and unexpected (mostly) playlist?
Why be closed off to your static playlist of songs you've heard dozens of times before?
With 40 or 60 gigabyte players, what's a more enticing feature at this point; an additional 10% of space, or radio reception? I realize that some have large music libraries, but you don't have to carry it all with you everywhere you go. USB or Firewire are fast enough to add songs on the fly. And adding radio reception is not a great difficulty for manufacturers. That is why I stick to my CD mp3 player, though that too only has FM.
No iPod for me cause of no radio.

The good news is that its not only the USA administration that lies.
Wow, if you think the US government is the worst tyrany that ever existed, you obviously have no knowledge of history, and haven't looked at the site in this article.
Yeah. Throwing trash at the cops is fun. A nice game to play is to see how far back you can stand back and still nail a cop smack on the head with a beer bottle.
A double fuck-you to Vivendi. They butchered Leisure Suit Larry, dismantled Sierra because of less than optimal revenues, and took apart Papyrus for similar reasons. At least they allowed David Kaemmer buy back the source code to Grand Prix Legends and the Nascar series that he wrote so that he can continue making other projects using his existing stuf.
Has anyone actually received a free iPod from any of the sheister snake oil peddlers that have cropped up recently? I probably know the answer to this but it never hurts to ask.
The name is just a part of the total brand package. Firefox is getting a lot of attention everywhere. The Wall Street Journal always recommends using it, and using IE only when Firefox doesn't support whichever function. The more attention FF gets, the more the name will be associated with browsing the web. Its all a matter of perception.
There's also the fact that IE comes bundled with Windows, and new users are made to feel like its the main access to the internet, like AOL used to be, where people didn't realize they could minimize the AOL window and still access the web. But I suppose they had all the trials they can handle about this, with Netscape and all...
You know, FM radio is not something you're being forced to listen to. Some people like the unpredictable playlist, or the news stations. You may simply ignore it. On most walkmen, inclusion of radio did not increase the size or complexity of the device. I can't imagine it would take a lot to include AM/FM in the iPod.
Thats the feature that stops me from buying one as I listen to Howard Stern, NPR, and some of the AM talk shows like Curtis And Kuby in NYC. The iPod is afterall a music player first and foremost. And what does Apple do: put in photo capability? Something that most cameras can alrady do very well, including TV output. It's ponderous to me.
As a bit of a sidenote, does anyone know of a program like Windows' Sniffer that has a "dashboard" type of applet which display the current packets per second going through an interface, or any other pps monitor (text or graphical)?
One use of torrent tracking sites that many people seem to not see is as a rating system. Another words, how many seeders and leechers there are for a specific torrent. If you just look at last night's prime time tv shows/sitcomes/reality tv/whatever, you have a Nielsen system of sorts, except that these actual numbers of people wanting to see the show, versus a canned response to a questionnaire.
Alright. I think it is time for you to give up on the single-mouse-button joke. You've had two tries and the next one is worse and more devoid of any comedy than the one before it. If you make another joke, I think a comedy black hole will open up and swallow Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle and Jim Carrey.
Doom 3 plays pretty well on my Thinkpad T42. I have a 64meg Radeon 9600 so that probably helps. But the card isn't a rarity in laptops. And I don't need to settle for a 10 pound beast with a 1 hour battery time.

Now if they only allowed this before and maybe even during a job interview I wouldn't be a newrvous wreck.

Most spammers use joe-job attacks so you'll likely get a double bounce back on your server, or someone innocent will get your bounce.
First this, then the news about math scores. What else is America a leader in, movies?
American's lag in education and it seems
Oh man, put on your flame suit.
Castlevania SYmphony of the Night (best game ever, i think)
Defenitely a well made game, great art and music. But I thought it was way too easy, expecially once you got a decent sword and leveled up.
No self-respecting kid will thank you for getting him/her a 'no-name' MP3 player this Christmas instead of an iPod.
Well, maybe just the ones that go by features they need, instead of what will impress the kewl kids at school the most.
