I am sorry but I have done contract work for over 10 years and this pisses me off. They may work at HP but they work for either their contract agency or for themselves. I didn't sue Pixar when I worked there because they decided not to put contractors in the credits. I don't expect the company I am working at to provide me with health benefits and stock options, I should get those through the agency who pays me.

For you maybe, I would like to have the original release re-mastered for visual quality and put out on DVD instead of one which is changed and truely changes importent aspects of a character's development.

Now I understand it's just a damn movie, and a cheesy space opera at that, but I happened to like it as it was.

I also think it's kinda of sad that Lucas spends so much time reworking his past instead of accepting what he considers "flaws" and creating new works.

No you can't, the original theatrical version has not, and never will be released on DVD. What you get on DVD is the latest in Lucas's "Upgrades" to his prior work. About the only way you can find the original release is on VHS or on Laser Disc.

I have wondered what happend to the "Patent Pending" process. When I was growing up you used to see it on a lot of stuff. It seems like things are rushed through the patent process with little or no review these days.

Your right but not one of the patents is court validated, and until they are it is really he said, she said. I have a feeling that when these patent violations are filed we'll see a lot of overturned patents, and if enough are overturned a review of software patents in general.

My major problem is one cannot contest a patent without being charged with violating it. What kind of system is that?
