Actually I check penny-arcade every day, I just think the comic shouldn't be posted to slashdot. But if it's ok with Tycho and Gabe then it would be ok with me. I just wonder if it's ok with them.

Let's see what have you ever done for your Country. Let's see I was proud enough to join and fight in the US Military. 8 years of honorable service. As for leftist, well maybe you are right but I guess that's what I get for having been an Episcopalian minister. Though I am no longer one some things never change. And I truly believe this is the time of the year NOT to be selfish, you have 11 months to spend treating your self to the nicities of life, all I ask is that you spend some time thinking of others you self righteous idiot.

Before you ever talk to me again, hit rock bottom, then dig yourself out and turn your life around.

2nd your chart does not take into account population growth. Nor the increase in charities. and no 250 billion dollars is not enough. Especially when an increasing amount of chritable donations goes to administrative costs.

And finally yes I am an asshole, i'll do what it takes to get the point across even if it makes everyone hate me. If what I have said makes even one person stop think and act then I was sucessful.

How about donating it to some shelters or soup kitchens, or maybe toys for tots. I know it's not the American thing to do any more but damn it's more important then turning your pc into the digital equivilant to a rice-burner.

Now a Merry Christmas to all and fucking do it right.

Besides doing database work for a few websites(as my main job), I work at a bar bouncing some nights and bartending others. I also use my experience from my years in the Navy and do handyman work (plumbing, light electrical, and some carpentry) for a few of the local businesses when they need me (and time permits). All in all I should say that at this time I make more money in my side jobs (especially tending bar) then I do in my full time work.

No, the very definition of government is that people get together to guarantee eachother their fundamental freedoms.

For example, in France we work 35 hours a week, have 6 weeks of paid vacation a year and still we are the most productive people in the world.

Oh really, is that why company's are fleeing france to other European country's. Is that why france has an extremely high unemployment rate.

Don't hold your breath about keeping that 35 hour week. It had nothing to do with efficient work, it had more to do with rampant unemployment. If you want to keep that 35 hour week be prpaerd to lose company's like Siemens and DaimlerChrysler. Not to mention that it seems to cost your country approximately 16 billion euros a year.
