I hope "innovate or die" will keep people warm in winter. Otherwise I hope they stick to their "it's my right to demand a lower price and it's not my problem" principle and let's see what happens then...
It is really simple. If you handle a gun, safety for you and others is your top priority. It is the same if you handle one ton of steel going at 60 Mph...
Finally some sensible arguments against NN. Delays while doing operations over the internet.. Rather not. And I'm sure Cisco has JUST the right tools to prevent that...
If we're open like that. Capitalism is a Russian invention to bring down Western civilisation. With the collapse of Goldman Sachs they were ALMOST there.
Actually Russian agents within the NSA are leaking real information through what the rest of the NSA believes is false information ans Snowden is involved in this operation playing along with the game, letting the NSA believe the intended plan was to defecting to Russia and feed the Russians false information...
Of course most of us don't need that gadget, but it's cool to see an older nerd like that picking up nerd-skills and making cool nerd stuff. Instead of saying "that is cute, but Simpsons did it" you can also say like "you must have had a lot of fun making it" and enjoy his enthusiasm:)
Too many times a researches made a fancy spread sheet, added some stuff over the years and then wants a decent application that does the same. Many times the problems they're working on are very interesting, but it's a BIG challenge to rewrite everything to a normal application:) But of course we like challenges like that:)
As for all the other countries, the NSA keeps the records of all things mentioned in the article. If you say something nasty you're labelled a terrorist and you disappear just the same.
Laws against cell phone use have not reduced accident rates.
Why is it so hard to understand that safety with cars is the ONLY priority. A text or a phone call can wait. If anybody that needs a law to understand that shouldn't be driving. It's that simple.
I'm affraid my current smartphone probably has more memory, more storage and is faster than my 8 years old single core laptop running W-XP. So how about one smartphone per child?
"Given that much more hidden spy cameras are available for far less than the $1500 cost of Glass, what will it take for general acceptance to finally take hold?"
Just wait for people to find out you're wearing one of those...
Still, the mechanism "you do something, you get something in return" seems to work better than "do nothing and get stuff for free" since well, you figure it out... The real problem begins (or it starts to get interesting) where too much of the things that can be done is being automated and there isn't enough work to do for less educated people.

Really? "The new plants will run at current prices, but they won't cover their costs"
And you wonder if the prices go DOWN?
Sure they can go down and most definitely some companies go bankrupt but count on it the prices will go up after that...
Something else like... driving a car?

Wow. I haven't seen that in a looong time. A website that uses frames ;)

Nice example, but as you already say: it is two effects that can be measured and evaluated separately according to the principles described by Jane...

10 points for the most creative fill-in-the-blanks-for-10-points :)

I prefer your over this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?...
I have to admit it's not hard to find a better version...
But mine plays Gangnam Style ;)

Now it's Shelve / Commit.
But even that might be history soon as I already have seen some auto-shelve plugins for my IDE.
That would be silly. ;)
It would be as silly as... wiping all the computers of an entire university
Are you telling me you still keep all your data on your C-Drive instead of an other partition, an other drive or NAS or even on a cloud?
And the rest of Asia and America and Europe and .......
And actually they all indeed do.
As for all the other countries, the NSA keeps the records of all things mentioned in the article.

The difference is Putin is openly clear about is.
"The government redrafted a proposed bill to levy a temporary 75% tax on earnings over 1 million Euros."
-- on earnings over 1 million Euros --
Personally I don't see the problem to contribute more to society if you earn that much money.
In attempt to make /. more people-friendly....
End of discussion :)
