Sounds like your targetted app client falls under the class of Enterprise.... so why not skip the app store entirely, keep 100% of the revenue and deploy directly to your verticle market customers directly using the Apple Enterprise licence model?
too funny. especially sine 25 years later every mobile device has shifted to full screen apps with no overlap support. ie. iPad, all smartphones and small display netbooks.anything with less then 14" display needs to use apps in fullscreen mode to be usable
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.0 (RHEL5) also installs with a splash screen by default. In fact it also installs Gnome desktop by default as part of the server. The ubuntu Server alternate installer disk is what you want to use for non GUI or splash screen installs.
I'm confused. What precisely do you mean when you imply he is "forcing" something on us all. Are you implying that we are all weak minded readers. Are you referring to some sort of Jedi mind trick here???
Did I miss something. When did expressing opinion become forced brainwashing on a public opinion based web site?
If I had mod points.. i would devote them all to you..
I do exactly what you do in ALL my workstations.. from my 8 year old 1.7Ghz single Core Pentium-M with only 2GB Ram (Run windows 732bit Host) and use VMWare Workstation 7 to run latest ubuntu in full screen... its fast.. all the way to my latest 64bit Core-i7 HyperThreaded runing 64bit Windows-7 with 8GB Ram.. with 4GB devoted to my 32bit paravirtualized kernel of Ubuntu 9.10 for development in full screen on a tripple monitor system!
Can't beat it for flexibility and maximum choice of tools for everything.
Its really too bad that Apple never lets OS-X run in VM on non apple hardware.. then I would be in heaven!
full backward compatibility is trivial... the windows kernel and platform team will use transparent Virtualization of all the older windows kernels (XP and Vista) to support all old apps and drivers.
I suspect that Canadians are not being left out of these early platform technologies from the US companies simply because of a single companies decisions (Microsoft in this case)..
I think it is because in Canada we don't have enough competition in the IP/Cable/Phone service provider market. Shaw,Rogers,Bell,MTS,etc, don't want to share their fat pipe when it comes to digital TV or any other TCP/IP related services..
It doesn't help when the Canadian market is 1/10th the size of the US market and also spread out over longer and larger distances between the dense market areas. The infrastructure costs and startup costs are much higher in canada.. and we also have this pesky CRTC regulating body that prohibits things.
The Canadian market IS slowly opening up in terms of these new services though.. a good example is Shaw Cable doing VOIP and MTS Phone offering Digital TV services. But the whole bundling of services to save money from a SINGLE provider ultimately slows the early availability of new technologies and services to consumers.
For example.. our cell phone services, packages, and pricing SUCKS big time compared to what's available in the USA.
What do other Canadians think about this? Am I totally wrong on this?
... Have you considered using an automation tool to convert almost all of the existing VB6 (prototype?) code to C++/MFC.
I have done extensive research into the limited set of tools on the market that can do the job and this is the best one i have found. And it has the best price too.
If the average consumer buys/leases/trades-in his/her $20,000 car/truck every 5 years, why can't these same people buy a new $300.00 operating system every 3 to 5 years?
Given enough time, resources, money and good old Greed and Google will become just as evil as WalMart, Microsoft and Apple.
Eventually google will offer so many 'free' things, that it will eventually suffer from a 'God Complex' and demand payment for service, or we will take away what we created!
The Canadian and Danish Olympic Hockey Teams should head up there during one of the -40C=-40F weekends this January 2006 with a good supply of Beer and Ice Scraper, clean the ice to make a rink, and settle it over a Good o'l Game of Drunk'n'Stuper Sponge Hockey.

they had to settle for RockMeLt, because if they named it RockMeAmadeus they would risk the jinks of being another one hit wonder!

Like this: "Hey, EU!! fuck off, Eh!"
where EU is pronounced like "ewe".
Of course our current "got no balls of a Prime Minister Harper will end up taking it from
behind like sheep on this issue"

Don't judge this software by the web-site...download the limited demo and give it a whirl.. the latest 2.x version of the software is very very good.
Hmm.. that sounds familiar; Google, "selling the future" to drive up the stock price... where did I hear/read about that concept before???
???
Oh yah... ENRON!
Going to the PUB 50% less (stay home) will save you more money then any other suggestion here.
Hey "Sumner".. any relation to Sting? (Yes the artist!)
Correction, Roger Waters _is_ a genius in my books; at least a musical one!
And the new corporate slogan could be:
"Evil or Not To Be Evil; That is the Question"
Sparkl* and Shin* baby; Spark!e and $hine
How can Microsoft extend support through 2011 and beyond when Linux will have bankrupt MSFT by 2010?

Google is to 'Rumours' as Microsoft is to 'F.U.D'

I wake up when I hear my wife yelling at the cat in the kitchen!
I get up when I can't "hold it" any more!
I eat breakfast in my car during my drive to work; Tim Hortons Coffee and Bagel!
I eat lunch when my stomach prevents me from concentrating on my work any more!
I eat dinner when I get home from work!
I go to sleep when I can't keep my eyes open anymore!
What is this thing called "time" you people keep talking about?
Football? No way..
