    What came first, the chicken or the egg? Software companies such as this really care less what format you save in. They care about whether or not to add necessary feature to their software so people will buy their software and they will make money. Money talks.

    What does the Microcenter store manager say? He would be the first person that I would be talking to if the extended warranty that his store sold me is not providing the coverage that his sales person promised.

    I have a feeling that they were hoping to sell it on the Sony name. Sony has great brand recognition. Kinda like Bose. And Monster Cable.

    College, for some, is one of the most influential parts of a person's life. I wish the college that I graduated from 5 years ago would offer something like this.

    Down the road it could be like it is now with PCs; either build your own or buy one at the store that has Windows on it and replace the OS with Linux.

    If your kids are wearing a neck brace, then I appologize. But we took many road trips when I was younger, and I enjoyed looking out the WINDOW.

    I do agree that CF has more versatility than SM. I have a Fuji 2400 that uses SM, and an MP3 that uses MMC. However, I do have a PCMCIA adapter for my Smart Media card so that I can quickly transfer photos to my laptop.

    I know they make the model RG-1000 that does 802.11, NAT, and has the 56 modem built in. It goes for about $220US

    Have you every built anything just to see if you could? I have _many_ extra computer parts laying around, and this is a fine use for them. The original question was not if you thought this was a good idea, but have you seen it done before...

    The built in 802.11b support is real nice, however I do agree that most of the features added to XP Pro aren't necessary for a company already running 2k on their network.
