I've set up Nexenta on a few of my servers and it is a nice system but I just don't see the point any more, SXCE or Solaris 10 do everything Nexenta can do plus more.
Another thing that bothers me is that NC 1.0 hasn't been updated in forever, SXCE builds are released every two weeks.
ZFS, dtrace, zones, Solaris Cluster, xen, java, and MySQL aren't "cool things?"
Sun is one of the biggest open source companies around even if their OS isn't the most popular. I know if it wasn't for SXCE and OpenSolaris I wouldn't be using Sun products at all, it's great to have the free versions to learn on and you can just add a support contract later if you want it.
Really? Have you even tried the latest builds? I'm running Real Player 10 on OpenSolaris and haven't had any issues with it, Real Alternative also works great on Windows.
ZFS with RAIDZ2 also has almost no overhead, the extra features like on the fly compression are just gravy. I've also seen a lot of hardware RAIDs fail, only had one or two Linux MDs fail that I couldn't rebuild.
C-SPAN has a live feed, URL is rtsp://rx-wes-sea74.rbn.com/farm/pull/tx-rbn-sea001:2459/farm/cspan/g2cspan/live/cspan1-g2.rm for real media. I'm sure Hulu and justin.tv will have streams running as well.
$12 an hour isn't a ton but still perfectly livable. Too many people are up to their eyeballs in debt with no plans to get out, THAT is the problem with our economy.
Let's turn that the other way around. If the school can't figure out the difference between your personal life and your professional(school) life, I don't want to go there.
I'm not a huge fan of MS but what difference does it make what OS the desktop uses, you can just as easily install a trojan on Linux or OS X. A properly locked down windows system is just as secure as anything else, as usual the weakest link is the user.
Why we he post them in a format that nobody uses? And before you spout off about patents I have yet to see Fraunhaufer go after an end user for using an mp3 encoder.

Men would be stupid to take a job in elementary education, all it takes is one kid saying that you "touched them" to ruin your life.
Why would you even need a raid controller? ZFS takes care of that for you.
Actually for some things you want SXCE(Solaris Express), it's closer to Solaris 10 and includes more packages.
I had to install SXCE for AVS (which rocks) and xvm support (Xen) is included as well.

A lot of my boxes have a /trash file system, after I'm absolutely sure I no longer need the files I rm them.
Normally you don't NEED to upgrade it. Set up the device and forget about it, unless there's some type of remote exploit you'll be fine.

Hometown, IL, zip is 60456. The bonus is that it's a real place. If you wanna be devilish say you're from Hell, MI.
Here's a question, has anybody tried suing Facebook/Myspace for loss of reputation or slander because of something that somebody else posted?
OMG, somebody drinking a beer! When I was 17 I did a lot of stupid/illegal stuff but I turned out to be a productive member of society.

It is not "like" half a meter, it is exactly half a meter.
There's this wonderful invention called a calendar.

I'm 29.
It's not difficult at all, fire up Audacity and set the recording source to "What U Hear", hit record.
My favorite color is light urple.
My hometown is Hometown, IL. Not really, but it's easy to remember.
He should have encoded them in mono, 78s are mono any way.

Seriously, nobody cares.
If you keep your records clean and use a good cartridge they do not hiss.
