  1. Disaster = Millions of Copies Sold on Maine To Skip Vista, Go Directly To Windows 7 · · Score: 1

Windows Vista, which has been a near-disaster for Microsoft.

Yes, if you consider selling 180 million copies a disaster.

Wow, all that hate and frustration.

Why not funnel that energy into something more constructive like...say...competition? By the nature of all the anti-WalMart sites you reference, it's obvious there is a HUGE opportunity there for a competitor.

  7. Free Markets Prevail! on The Man Who Said No to Wal-Mart · · Score: 1

  8. Those who got the ax may have been doing good on Heads Roll As Microsoft Misses Vista Target · · Score: 1

Did anyone ever think Vista might be late because the head of the program was trying (unsuccessfully) to some good: trim down the code/make it more secure/do good things vs. Microsoft's history of continually adding bloat?

I strongly believe there has to have been turmoil and much heated discussion over this; 40% larger code from one release to another would make anyone ill.

  9. Standards first, then # of cores on Are three cores better than two? · · Score: 1, Insightful

The industry needs to standardize or at least agree on an optimal number of cores. What good is 2, 3, n # of cores if software doesn't support it?

  10. Re:Don't let your head explode on Microsoft Calls for National Privacy Law · · Score: 1

You must also say to yourself, Bill and Melinda Gates just donated $238 million to Malaria research. If making money is the only motivator, then how do you explain that move?

My point is that maybe Microsoft's bid to enhance privacy laws is as simple as it sounds: a good thing w/o the greed.

Since when is an animal's life as important as a human's? (Everyone's so violent! Kill him or her, man.....)

I don't understand how *we* are the cause of any species' destruction? Give me an example.

CFCs you say? Automobiles and hairspray? One volcano erupting spews more CFCs than mankind has throughout history.

Rainforest destruction and deforestation? We plant tenfold the trees we cut down. It's also a fact that twice the diseases COME FROM the rainforest than what we discover from the rainforest.

I'm not sure why humans are responsible. It's just natural course of evolution. I *wish* we had control over nature, but we don't.
