This would be a problem if users could not select which updates to install and which to ignore. DuranDuran, for instance, has been without the Microsoft Malicious Software tool since it was first released.
He has also been referring to himself in the third person since earlier this morning.
Tyrell: But all of this is academic. You were made as well as we could make you. Roy: But not to last. Tyrell: The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long. And you have burned so very very brightly, Roy. Look at you. You're the prodigal son. You're quite a prize! Roy: I've done questionable things. Tyrell: Also extraordinary things. Revel in your time! Roy: Nothing the god of biomechanics wouldn't let you in heaven for.
Informative???? How can that be informative? It's also useful to know how to degrease a '78 Chevy! Doesn't mean it needs to be mentioned in the post header.
I have no evidence to say whether this is actually correct or not (but, I suspect, neither do the authors of the article).
But if it is true, is it really so bad? Some will pay $250 a person to see Madonna play. OK, fine, it's their money and they can do what they like with it.
Meanwhile, we have access to P2P software that lets us sample all sorts of new music. Then I can spend my own money (and probably significantly less than $250) on seeing A Given Independent Band.
Over time, maybe fewer people will go and see Madonna play. Then where will she get her $250 from? At the same time, more people will be prepared to pay a little more to see A Given Independent Band (in the same way that bushfires make fire detectors cheaper, heightened crime makes door locks cheaper - more producers entering the lurcative market). I don't think I mind this at all.
This is off topic, but I'll say this about the original article:
If you need to put a sentence describing the point of the paragraph in bold before the paragraph itself, it's a sign that you need to rewrite the paragraph.
Thanks for proving my point! Where did I say that you should play "the same old poppy tracks"? I said "play to the crowd". Now, either the crowd (and you) are fools, or they (and you) know what's what. You should read what I wrote, then think about it a little.
My advice to you is as follows. This is coming from someone who has DJ'd around the world, supported big acts like the Prodigy, had residencies.
Your first step is to learn to play music that people want to hear. Don't worry about beatmixing, cutting, scartching, all that can come later. If you want to be popular, the kind of Dj that gets asked to play regularly and has a good following (regardless of whether it's underground or mainstream), learn first to read the crowd and play music that you think they will like. Some of the world's best DJ's are technically awful. But they play upfront tracks.
Then, when you're ready, buy some turntables. They don't have to be Technics - in fact I recommend some rubbish old ones first. They will improve your technique.
> Really? What real difference is there between a 2006 model car and a 1986 model car? The average car of 1986 isn't that much different than one from 2006.
That's absolute rubbish. I can tell you don't drive very much.
- materials (safer, lighter now) - fuel economy (vastly better now) - component modularity (much easier for a pro to service a newer engine) - traction control (skyline gtr, lancer evo and subaru wrx are excellent examples of this) - better safety (ever heard of an air bag? side-mounted, at that) - petrol v electric (show me your commercially available electric car from 1986) - popular sat nav - xenon/hid headlights - vastly improved stock security (alarms/immobilisers as standard)
i remember Top Gear did a comparison of race cars from the 70s and 80s and store-bought cars from the 00s - the *store bought* cars whipped the older race prepped versions.
There is no way anyone in their right mind would buy a new car from 1986 over a new car from 2006. You wouldn't either, if you knew what you were talking about.

OK, just imagine a world where we can pick your stalker out in the crowd with such convenience... where their exact movements are tracked at all times. Are you even paying attention?
I agree. Beware you don't become what you hate the most.

I do own these movies actually. I did make them. The MPAA does not represent me, nor any self respecting short film maker. And I don't want phones going off when I'm screening them.
> because it was a copyright violation, or didn't have any reputable sources to back it up, or it wasn't notable enough to be in an encyclopedia
Of course those are the formal reasons for reversion or removal. But in reality, the removal reasons extend to:
"I don't agree with that" "This is *my* article, not yours" "I am a Wikipedia editor, and hence it is my job to edit" "I need to make my 5,000th edit so I can get another star on my user page" "I could verify this claim...or I could just remove it"
> definitely can't rent anything reasonably new on DVD either - most Japanese movies for rent ONLY exist on VHS
Sorry, but that's rubbish. There are MANY DVD rental stores in Japan (certainly in Tokyo). Many are open 24 hours, too, like you'd expect. Tsutaya alone has hundreds of branches. Off the top of my head I can think of six dvd rental places near our apartment, and we aren't even in the centre of Tokyo.
Jeez, there are even places that will rent you a dvd *player* for a few hours.
Two minutes on Google would have told you this also.
What point? Your post didn't have one, other than "I am a HERO for shooting the bird that my idiot friends couldn't hit". Maybe you had a point, but it's not in your post. Fool.
My buddies were shooting at a bird on a telphone post with a BB gun. After about 15 or 20 minutes of them missing, I took the gun, fired one shot, hit the bird (well, think I did as there was a spray of feathers and the bird flew away) and handed the gun back.
I never said a word.....
Wow, what a legend you are. You and your friends, such brave, brave people. That's gonna be a story to tell your kids. "Yes, son, I shot a bird once, I was a real hero. Why, yes, I am a cowardly ass, now that you mention it."
We trie these at a large Australian university. The reason we rejected them was simply because people don't interact like this in the 'real world'. Imagine presenting a new idea to a client and having your intern or assistant interact with the client with one of these things.
Students can participate or not, just like the real world. Occasionally, there are negative consequences to that participation. Part of the learning and maturing process is to work out how, why and when to participate. That's life!

For some reason I'm reminded of this...

Why bother password protecting a test file from two and three years ago?

Ah nuts I left off the ";)" - I thought the OP was funny!
I don't mean to be petty over such a petit thing, but I think you mean 'petty', not 'petit'.
