That information is on a public Web site...the experts I talked with suggested that having it so readily available is "amazingly stupid" of any data mining company.
Funny and scary at the same time.
Even scarier is: In fact, the mailing list of more than 259,000 names is also on the site, and easily downloaded.
While my windows box was down, i took to using linux just to see if i could do it. Every one of your points are valid. My biggest gripe is package installation. While YUM and APT are neat, very few peoplw want to use the CLI to install software. Even fewer want to (or are able to) install from source. Windows are able to make cross-version binary compatible apps, why not linux?
WTF does anyone stand to gain by compromising my cell phone? Do they want my free weekend minutes?
As if I needed another reason not to upgrade my 3 year old nokia. No camera, minimal PDA function, no link to PC or thar intarweb. It's durable, and it's a fucking phone!!! Jeez.
Centrino is not a processor, but a group of Intel technologies bundled under one brandname.
Not only that, but isn't comparing the Intel Core Duo to the single core Turion like apples to oranges? Single core vs. single core makes for an even comparison.
The essence of what you're looking for here is an unattended windows * install with hotfixes and updates streamlined. You can even go a bit further and build in additional drivers and software(JRE or AV, anyone?). In my experience as a tech, XP is the OS I find myself reload most often. One can also do unattended reloads of W98/ME/2k as well. All involve similar google searches.
Could you please elaborate? Just saying someone is wrong doesn't help anyone, and it makes you look like a prick. Please tell us how you think he's wrong.
If it's not the responsibility of the copyright holder to protect his/her content, then whose responsibility is it?
SP2 is such a necesity they should have made a one time exception. When you start making exceptions like that, You send a message to (clueless)pirates that using an illegal copy is ok. Those with even half of a clue know how to fly under the radar.
Though i'll probably get flamed for this as well, we in my post refers to the American population. There was no way of inferring that from my post of any of my previous posts. I apologize for not making that crystal clear.
'stubbornness' It seems that I will have to make this crystal clear to you as well. Complacency (kem-plsn-se) 1 : calm or secure satisfaction with oneself or one's lot : SELF-SATISFACTION Myself and many Americans are very happy with the imperial system of weights and measures. No tangible benefits to switching.
What's 1/1760 of a mile, 1/3 of a yard, 1/12 of a foot?
(off the top of my head)
errrr....Yard, Foot, and Inch? The point others have made is the point I will state here. It's what we're used to. Complacency is a wonderful thing, isn't it?
Then use it. (Log in as a limited user so that others don't install crap either.)
Have you any idea how many Windows programs require administrative rights just to run? MS programs (or rather the OS itself) have no idea of any difference between user space and system space. My terminology may be off here, im trying to convey the concept of/home in linux and user-installs. Linux will allow you to install whatever you want, but most stuff ends up in/home/joesixpack. Install all ya want. Reinstall useful stuff as root. Create new user, delete old - good as new. oops. i solved the problem in linux. Windows solution? Reinstall OS:-(
Parent's advice is sound, too. Esp. the part about making an image.

Amazingly stupid indeed.
That was one thing i did like a bout K when i was using linux.

Try this: Oooh tanks!!
Now try this: Hey where'd all the tanks go!?
Now take note of the fact that you are (in all likelyhood) not in China.

...Not as random or clumsy as a Zen, it is an elegant media player, from a more civilized time.
Kokomo Hum... Is she related to the infamous Dyna Moe Hum?
:-P
I just looked, and 'browser.sessionhistory.max_total_viewers' is -1. Any thoughts?
Using FF1.5 on FC3.

These suits do nothing more than publicize the fact that you can download music illegally.
Are you serious? You want a multi-monitor gaming rig, but you'll use ethernet between them? Wow.
For under $1k(decimal) US, I'll set you up with an SLI or Crossfire rig with 4 DVI outputs. You can span displays to your heart's content.
Personally i'd like to get 4 of these in a 2x2 wall mounted configuration.
Also worthy of note is that one will be unable to run more than 2 of any 30" display as they require dual-link DVI to get the bandwidth they require. This is what example.com is for my friend! ;-)
This and this should get you started.

What? Digg who?
Ouch.
That wasn't a very nice thing to say.
Vi vs. emacs arguments are pointless and a waste of time.

Linux has a similarly deadly single keystroke attack: ctrl-alt-backspace.
Then use it. (Log in as a limited user so that others don't install crap either.)
