    products such as Sulphiric Acid haver been thoroughly investigated, and apparently its pretty bad for us... much worse than CNT's or Asbestos. Its still used a lot in industry though.

    this is a bit late, so probably wont be read.


    I realise the word "forever" is redundant now but we must look at the resilience of existing media. How long does vinal last? How about tape? I wont use paper or books or even wax tablets as examples, but if something can be broken down into 1's and 0's why not look at the integrity of another media instead of CD's and DVD's or tape which have proven to fail us.


    A chip that was "written" 50 years ago still holds its integrity. Why not improve the integrity of flash memory? Or if that fails, use some ingenuity. There are other media that can hold data, or virtual media. To paraphrase Linus "real men upload their data to an ftp server and have other people mirror it"


    just my 2c, which probably wont be read now anyway

    Despite the fact that this is closed source and only runs on Windows (due to a greater compatibility on TV cards I imagine) I am very impressed that someone has finally made a PVR solution specifically for the UK (GB) market; including access to the Sky EPG (electronic program guide)... and there are some very handy plug-ins available too.

    However, as its free to use, you should really open the source; you'll be surprised how the number of donations will go up.

    2) If you link to a site, please include the coral link (this can be done programatically!)
    3) If you link to a file, add a torrent (this is for the submitters, not the editors)

    "french fries" were actually invented by... American Indians/ Native Americans (whatever)

    Where did the potato originally come from??? You'll find that a certain British sailor bought potato's back to europe many hundreds of years ago along with all the cooking tips from "The Americas"

    Unfortunatly, you cant call them "Indian Fries" as that wouldn't be very PC (although a dammn sight more PC than changing the name away from "French" due to intense racial hatred because a country wouldnt join you in an illegal war!)

    I had a boss who came over from being CIO of boo.com to IT manager at a company I worked for. He lasted 6 months and blew 2 years worth of IT budget (I wont use his name but its easily googled).

    Having experienced quite how easily he managed to waste money (and the low level of technical understanding) it is very easy to see how boo failed.

    I fully understand the use of vivisection; I'm even going to say that I am pro animal testing (lets watch the flames now :S)

    However, a human is NOT a rat. Our skulls are thicker, our neurons interconnect differently, there is different bloodflow around the cranial cavity and the meninges is more complex in humans. We are not looking for research related to biochemistry, we are looking at physical abstraction.

    I would give this research a second look if it were performed on primates, but a rat just isnt a proper comparitive test.

    Also, IE rendering is not needed on windows machines if you install the "view in IE" extension for Firefox. Although i do see its uses if you were developing web sites on another OS where IE is not available.

    We must remember that IE still hase 90% (ish, not checked netcraft) and untill firefox spreads, sites HAVE to render correctly in it... apart from /. obviously
