    Seriously though, I realise its not about the player here, but to echo many of the previous comments, and no doubt many of the comments to come, the Real codec hasn't been relevant for 5 years, I don't have it installed on any of my boxes because I never come across the opportunity to download media in that format

    OK, I actually quite like this idea. I've had my P900 for a few years now as I cant really see the point of giving up a phone that does everything for me (phone, browser, email, ssh ferchristsakes). A boost in storage for MP3's sounds like a great idea.


    However, just look at the flimsy ribbon connecting it, imagine the poor quality adhesive that will rip the bugger off when my phone is in the same pocket as my keys. Nah, I'll wait until they get it out of prototype phase.

    OK, not my computer, but my father had a guy working in his accounts department many many years ago whos job it was to perform long arduous calculations to work out the monthly bonus' of the sales force. His job title was "Computer"

    Likewise, I use the same software as yourself, but you forgot to mention the weakest link in the chain, IE
    AVG, S&D, Adaware (although less so now, S&D seems good enough) and Firefox!
    Malware free for 2 years :)

    OK, we're heading pretty off topic here, but this is slashback, there is no single topic.


    However, Stallman and yourself are wrong about the Israel thing. The moot point is.... there is no Plaestine, never has been. To paraphrase Goebbles, "if you say a lie often enough, it becomes true". This is what has happened with "Palestine". Just becasue I decide I want the road I live on to become independant of the rest of the country, doesn't mean that is should be, even if I start blowing things up to proove my point.


    If I call myself a Youngerpantsian from the nation state of Younger, it doesnt matter how many times I say it, its not true, i'm still british from the UK.


    Now, I cant condone military action on behalf of the Israelis, but likewise, I can't condone fundamentalists starting the trouble in the first place.

    Like yourself, pissing me off doesn't make me want to shop there; I'll either walk out of the door or just browse to another site


    The difference is, when I shop online, its even easier to go to a competitors store.

    Not necessarily, pyroclastic flows on Earth are flows of solid matter (rocks) that can occur during periods of volcanic activity.


    Although they are made out of "solid" matter the flows seem almost liquid in nature. Don't think of the methane as one huge frozen lump, but rather many solid lumps in motion.

    OK, I can understand a simultaneous broadcast, but why doe the UK have to act as testers for the program, and then have to wait an additional 4 months because the test went well???


    Karma be dammed, I'm going to download these episodes and boycott the TV showings. The UK are NOT second class consumers despite what the studios believe.

    Sorry, but wrong

    VoIP applications properly compressed using SIP should be about 8k (and remember this is just voice were talking about, not video streaming); 10% QoS on a standard 1024/512 DSL connection provides more than enough bandwidth for 6 conversations.

    Simple, google desktop search with the "Larry's Any Text File Indexer". On installation you have to specify what file extensions to include in the search (e.g. *.HTML) et voila!
