Good reading skills. If you look closely you'll see the qualifier "largely" in front of "created by white males." I did this for the obviously sexist and racist reason of being succinct while acknowledging that they were not the ONLY ones involved. It was my goal to make my point without actually having to list every single human being who has had a hand in the CS field in the last 100 or whatever years just to satisfy the literalists.

The problem is this: everywhere "non-minority" males compete and excel, they are accused of bias and the problem is resolved with constraints that increasingly cripple competitive males until whatever field the social crusaders are destroying looks enough like their paintings.

But there's a flip side to this as well, individuals who may have no real interest in a particular field are being herded into them at the prodding of these social crusaders. How is it any better for society to tell a female or a minority, "We don't like the field you chose so choose again and make sure you choose the one WE want you to be in." What sort of bias does that represent? If a person chooses not to take a choice based on a perception of bias in that choice, *AT THE LEAST* they have had an opportunity to exercise a choice. In the social crusader's paradigm, that person at the worst HAS NO CHOICE and at best can make another choice and endure potential public shaming. There are a plethora of articles out there of women being shamed for making choices in their own interest that do not hew closely enough to preferences of the dominating social crusader class.

"But the thing is, CollegeBoard AP CS exam records indicate that no Wyoming students at all took an AP CS exam (xls) in 2013, and only a total of 103 Utah students (xls) had reported scores. Let's not forget about the girls and underrepresented minorities, but since AP CS Exam Stats are being spun as a measure of CS education participation (pdf) and equity, let's not forget that pretty much everyone has been underrepresented if we look at the big AP CS picture."

That's the point. They don't care about "non-minority" males. PERIOD. Their only concern are the aforementioned "minority" groups.

The interesting thing is that in a field largely created by white males, the "new" white male beneficiaries of all who came before them now want to declare ownership of the field and decide who should and shouldn't have access to its rewards. Pretty grotesque, don'tcha think?

Why are they barbarians - because they have rules regarding what they find socially offensive? In this country a 15 year old boy was driven to suicide after being threatened with jail time and inclusion on the sex offender registry after he was caught streaking at a football game. Are we any less barbaric then? Homeless people caught taking a leak are added to sex offender registries regularly. Teens having consensual sex are added as well. And again, *they* are the barbarians?
And I don't buy the fact that they abuse women on any scale greater than anywhere else. If that was the case, I think you'd see lots of women expatriating or seeking refugee status in other countries. We don't though. Do we? Funding terrorism? As opposed to the USA the essentially funded, trained and armed the terrorism we are fighting via Osama Bin Ladin's Al-Qaeda in the 90s? Who was the leader of the free world that IMMEDIATELY went to the "solution" of bombing Syria and adding more bodies to the death count as a means of punishing Syria for adding more bodies to the death count. Which first world country is developing a reputation for having extremely violent police force who will shoot first and ask questions later?
So, why would we tolerate their shit? Mostly because we force the rest of the world to tolerate ours. Unless of course, you enjoy living hypocritically. Let's clean up our own house before we comment on the condition of someone elses.

Basically, as feminists like to USE situations to leverage their agenda, they are using this as an excuse to violate freedom of speech. Expect to see this strategy expanded and used more often as people begin to resist feminist hegemony. From Violet Blue's blog: "I found out a few hours later that I had been targeted by a feminist organization, The Ada Initiative. I learned that the woman who smiled at me while talking to the BSides SF organizer was Valerie Aurora, from the Ada Initiative. I also learned that what happened with my talk wasn’t a case where someone who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time as a survivor of sexual trauma or abuse, which is how it was presented to me. Instead, it was an organization that had planned to get my talk removed. In areas where males and females compete in separate tracks, female standards are ALWAYS lower than male standards - for example sports, the military, emergency response. In areas where the two are forced onto the same field (for example - jobs, education), the standard for EVERYONE is lowered or changed to suit the weakest performer. In practice, this results in a situation akin to a male runner being forced to carry extra weight to slow him down to the female standard. Perhaps this results in a nice tidy "equality" of outcome but it surely costs the person who is hamstrung to the lower standard. This is what you see in schools. Schools have been re-engineered to a standard that fits females far better than males. The fact that we actually DRUG our male children with things like Ritalin just to get them to sit through a school day should be indicative of a serious problem. Most males sleep their way through K12 because they can ) and increasingly in university as well). Ask a world class male runner to walk a course to make it fair to the women and see how long he lasts before he drops out from disgust. In education and in the work force, males are dropping out. Success at the male pace and level is absolutely hamstrung in this society. So where does a male who can't use his natural strengths to achieve accomplishment go? To the last great male space: the couch and the XBox. Where are our males right now? On the couch with the XBox. We have even had numerous social commentaries on this VERY FACT (while of course completely sidestepping the TRUE reason). This study is a joke. All it does is identify that males are bored performing to the female standard. Big surprise.
