Many spammers use Cloudflare to shield their web sites from being taken down. Even when abuse@cloudflare.com is presented with overwhelming evidence they are protecting spammers, they do nothing. I can only assume they believe it is more profitable for them to ignore the takedown requests than spend money taking care of the problem.
I agree. I block email from all OVH IP addresses because they are a major source of spam. DDOSs are wrong, but I have no sympathy for the spam supporters at OVH.
As part of a recent bankruptcy settlement the unions agreed to wage and benefit cuts. Once out of bankruptcy, the management proceeded to pay themselves huge bonuses instead of reinvesting in the company.
I am hard on gear. I use an Otterbox case for my iPhone, if I did not I would have destoyed it long ago.
VMODA headphones are great sounding, but not the absolute best. What makes them the best ear buds is the quality of the wiring and the offset plug on the cable that makes them last far longer than other brands.
I have had other high end earphones that died within a few weeks to months becasue the wire broke internally. The offset plug on the vmoda headphones prevents the majority of severe strains on the wire when you bump the phone with the headphones plugged into an object. The wire breaking internally at the plug is where all of my non VMODA headphones have died. My VMODA ear buds far outlast any other brand I have tried including Sennheiser, Bose, and Shure.
Leave it alone and only apply the security updates. I have a server happily running sarge that I have no plans to change. Onnce you have a stable web server that does what you need. Only change things you need to maintain security.
I have not used the optical drive in my laptop for years. I use jump drives and back up to other hard drives (much better ease of use and archival storage). I use USB thumb drives to move data. DVDs and CDs are dead media soon to go the way of the floppy. My favorite laptop of the past was a Sharp UM32. It had a compact flash slot for moving data and no optical drive. It was thin and light and was more than powerful enough for portable use. I like small for laptop. Portability and weight are important, blazing speed is not. I use a laptop to browse the web, check email, and to check out my photos as I take them. I edit them on my high-powered desktop at home.
I have had a problem with blog/forum/bbs spam on my web site for allmost a year. I get about 200 attepts to post gambling, mortgage, or porn spam to my BBS. Most of it comes through open proxy servers which are being accessed by zombie computers. Thus two levels of masking. The strangest spam I got was for a french buldog site. I have developed some methods for controling it, but I do not want to divulge them publiclly since the bad guys would then know my counter measures.
I block all mail from CN, HK. & KR becasue I get nothing but SPAM from them. I do mail for about 40 users and I block more than 5000 spam messages from CN each day. Until that number drops by at least a factor of 1000 I will leave my country block for CN online. Trojan proxies and CN now are my number 1 & 2 sources of spam.
If more ISPs took spam complaints seriously and acted on them quickly the net would be a better place. However it is has been my experience that abuse desks are mostly staffed by the clueless. For me the dominant source of spam that I get now comes from infected computers, since DNSBLs have rendered fixed spaming IPs impotent.
add this to your access file to block them by IP

I need to see more than this article to convince me this works.

If they are using palm readers I want to know if they will also being telling fortunes each time you make a transaction.
This is why DRM is dead and should never return

I see the )ASUS EEE (http://eeepc.asus.com/en/ and the OLPC (http://laptop.org/) as it's competition. Both are bigger, but also far more capable and less expensive.
The resources available at a university should help counter the RIAA's unconscionable tactics.
I have blocked anoymizer access to my BBS for several years. It was only used by abusive posters to block their identity.
The ones who ordered and paid for the stunt face no charges, but the two guys who put them up as their job do.
Since there seems to be a great deal of chance in any legal proceeding, it makes just as much sense, if not more.
Imagane a generation of children brought up using Linux, not Windows. That is his worst nightmare.
Is that why I get over 10000 attempts a day to post gambling spam on my bbs?
China has been the biggest single source of spam and hacking on my server for years. I have blocked all access from China snd Korea.
