It appears I have control over ICMP packets with my AVG firewall. What exactly should I be doing, ie which packets need to be blocked as they have numbers and no description? Thanks
Like I said on another comment, unless you are psychic, you won't know when its coming and via Murphy's Law, your battery will be close to dead and can't be charged.
The lamest idea of the last 15 or so years. The new Windows would just forward legacy registry calls to some simple program which would create text files in the program directory. Then read them back, eventually transitioning to the old Windows 3.1 style configs.
As they work with the telco electricy in case the mains goes out. I've seen the huge batteries they use and I doubt they would discharge quickly. Cordless phones are obviously useless.
...have been selling devices for years that match up males and females. You program your device for male/single/gay or whatever and when a compatible person is nearby in notifies you. Don't know how they notify- maybe a smoke detector alarm.
Carp are normally vegetarian but seem to also congregate around sewage discharge into streams and rivers. So they are not necessarily a sign of a healthy environment. But I think in Japan they are popular fish, while in the US they are considered foreign invasive species. In PA you could legally shoot them with a bow and arrow.
Actually all of those mentioned devices have large antennas to radiate with- ie the line from your house to the pole transformer. If you live in the city like here, one transformer is used by a number of houses. So the net affect is similar to BPL. In order to cut costs, most manufacturers use as little filtering on these consumer devices as they can get away with. Some things, like light dimmers have no filtering at all. The AC line safety ground does little to shunt out the noise as its designed for 60hz, not RF.
BPL is just one of a thousand different devices that pollute the HF and VHF spectrum. Computers, laptops, touchlamps, plasma TV's (are the worst). Just about any device that uses high speed digital circuitry or switch mode power supplies. In computers, spread spectrum clocks are used to get pass FCC emission requirements, but if you live in a dense neighborhood where people leave their computers on 24/7, that doesn't help much.
The Portland network looked pretty decent in the beginning. The ads weren't too obnoxious. Then one day people found out that the only way they could use the free service was to download some Windows-only program that spewed out ads by the dozen. Linux and BSD users were locked out. Believe me, they should be happy to be locked out.
any day. First it doesn't bring 20Meg of crap along with it thats takes you an hour to turn off, and Winamp will play Windows Media and the format for streaming video that Firefox Download Helper saves.
refuge from the US. Especially BC which is just North of here. But Canada seems to be falling in line with Bush lately. Perhaps if Obama is elected, we won't see any more of that in Canada. Where the US goes, so does a lot of other countries. But we have to see Obama's relation to the music and movie industries first.

Well, if you were psychic, you would know when it was coming and charge your battery ahead of time. Otherwise you are still eventually fucked.

What would a picture of Hillary do to the machine?
a euphemism for sex education!!

Wait, a McCain picture might give error messages indicating you are TOO old to buy cigarettes.
that should be restricted to the .con domain.

I could have sworn it said "Aleister Crowley."

grow whiskers. That would be a major bummer. But then lead would be pretty heavy.
We found suspiciously planted child porn in unusual newsgroups like alt.gardening or such.
explicitly forbids open WiFi routers and they actually go around in trucks looking for them.
someone beats Monster Cable to the punch- in the Cayman Islands that is.
So thats why I get a big electric shock everytime I try to take a bath- water.
but after using the sledge hammer, each time I would have to buy a new door. Got expensive. I'd recommend a key

One of the few losses he's ever had. But then if you are a billionaire, you can foul up once in a while. Witness Paul Allen of MS fame.
