    really? I'd say a perl script should be perfectly capable of spreading the usual marketing fud. If you want to make it stay up-to-date simply have it scour recent press-releases when it's bored to find new catchy phrases.

    Generated by what exactly? Is there some sort of obscure process going on that converts other forms of energy into heat down there? And that would be what exactly, gravity? A huge dynamo that works off of the spin of the planet?(try picturing that 1 in your head for a moment) The planet is kept on temperature by the sun, if the sun were to go away on a holiday the core of the earth would be cooling down pretty soon(soon being a relative concept when dealing with objects this large)

    That's it? I decided to testrun the MS anti-spyware app the other day. 6 month old install of XP running a slightly older version of Mozilla. Amount of spyware: 0. And i do click every link that passes in front of me...

    Capitalists don't intentionally kill their customers. It's not profitable. Capitalists succeed by providing people with things they are willing to purchase.

    Following this line of reasoning, stuff people can slaughter each other with....so THAT's why the USA allows citizens to own guns! See, I just knew I'd be able to squeeze an anti-usa comment out of that one ;-)

    I'd say the fact that pointing out people are Christian is somehow a reference for good character still clearly points out how deep the american culture has religion embedded into it. Would I be wrong in stating that someone openly admitting to be an atheist would be at the least slightly handicapped in his/her progress through society? And I'm not talking just work, but also (semi)socially...

    I truly can't believe it. How is it the responsibility of the business that individual x had his chord hanging there? thank god i live in a country where you're insured for medical expenses anyway(obligatorily by law) and terminal stupidity is not considered an asset...

    Doubtfully, considering disabling that is so simple even the average joe sixpack can figure it out...

    The biggest cost to a business will be when someone trips over your charger's power cord. The guy who tripped sues the store for the hazard they allowed on the floor, and you sue the store for a new laptop.

    I lived in france a couple of years ago and picked up a copy of Fallout 2. Ever tried playing a roleplaying game in your 3rd language? Tis fun to find out that even though you speak a certain language quite well there's always a certain amount of words you never run across. funky stuff like doorposts and other objects, not to mention certain skills and aptitudes.

    well, to name an example, some of the games on popcap require ActiveX to play. why exactly, I have no idea, but i do know that when you click somewhere outside the browser window the game automatically pauses. comes in kinda handy when one of those silly customers decides to interrupt a good game.

    If Microsoft lists competing products as spyware, I think a lot of people would think... "What??? I didn't know that was spyware. Oh well, better safe then sorry, better delete it".

    Considering their recent track record in the european courts...I almost wish they'd go ahead and try to get away with that one.

    I work in support as well and my trick for dealing with the haze that comes over my mind after a full day of work is that once I come home I stuff myself with food, after which I crawl into bed with either a book or the tv onleading to me falling asleep within 10 minutes. 2 or 3 hours later I get up, make coffee, maybe even take a nice shower and I'm all fresh, ready to enjoy my evening. Kinda hard to do if you're not single though.

    it is us Aspergers. No joke btw, i was really interrupted, very annoying. Silly customers.

    As for that article, I think it's got the chicken and the egg the wrong way around. Asperger patients are very adept at learning languages, both spoken and written, and programming languages fall into this category quite nicely.

    Um, that logically means that you have no free speech rights. At all. What -- we only have the right not to be silenced by the government, but anyone else can shut you up at will because you are on their property? Put a roof over land, and the constitution ends at the parking lot?

    dunno about him, but my cable modem actually checks the MAC addy of my nic. it will work with 1 MAC addy and that addy only, otherwise it's game over. so yeah, the isp knows my mac address, the modem knows my mac address etc. etc.
