altho the storyline was somewhat flimsy, in terms of playability i found academy a lot better than II. better balance in the force powers, for example.
you can always kill off the builtin firewall and use one of your own to solve that problem. and the fact that apps get broken because they can't just dial in and out of your computer willy-nilly whenever they feel like it, well well, my my, that is an issue indeed...
yay, great philosophy. Not click links because you might end up getting infected. How about not crossing streets anymore because you might get hit by a car? I hope you don't eat chicken, you might catch salmonella. Slept in a hotel room lately? Better make sure you didn't catch veteran's disease. Jeez, and you're telling other people to get their heads out of their asses?
in addition to this, Dutch scientists recently made a discovery that allows one to transform practically the entire corn/sugar cane plant into alcohol and not just sugarry part.
also don't forget that there's violent movies and violent movies. however, if entertainment propagates the idea that violence is somehow "cool" then it is a different story. nevertheless, there's still this whole concept of parents who have this odd thing called responsibility which if i understood correctly also included actually teaching the values of society to their children. failing that, there's school. that still leaves those people whose conscience just doesn't quite tick but those have always been around and always will be. and in a lot of cases even these individuals can be approached from a logical point of view. even if they fail to see something is "wrong" they can still be taught that something is "not a smart idea"
because if browsers consistently refused to parse Slashdot the coders would burn the carpet running to fix it. Anywayz, i never intented to say that it should completely ignore the entire page, if it can make something readable of it, i guess that's fine, after all this is just a browser we're talking about. however, i would greatly appreciate it if the browser a) does not attempt to parse bad code and b) notifies me of the fact that it has come across bad code it cannot parse, with the possibility of displaying that code to me and perhaps even a built in link that automatically generates a mail to admin@domain.com with the necessary info about the problem.
I'd really prefer it to just refuse to parse the page mentioning that the code is bad instead of crash. As much as I like Firefox/Moz, when a piece of software is fed bad data, it should say so, not die on the spot, ever.
there's tons of benchmarks out there that say otherwise. so AMD has paid each and every one of those websites to display fake results...judging from both benchmarks online an rl experiences from friends who already have an Athlon 64, it is definitely faster than an XP in the same MHz rating with increases of up to 30% when doing for example heavy duty gaming.
yet another story that's only about 3 years old. yes, tom's hardware made a pretty film, and at the time it was pretty impressive to watch that Athlon go up in smoke. I even got to witness pretty much the same thing lately when the fan on my Duron 800 decided to give out and the CPU went to Valhalla and decided it'd feel lonely if it didn't take the mobo along with it. Still, this is hardware of at least 3 years old we're talking about, an entire generation of hardware.
iirc back in the Clinton days they already passed a law that allows them to storm up our beaches if we were to hold an american soldier captive under suspicion of warcrimes. international justice court and all that stuff. so while they're at it the marines could take a detour and bust some nasty copyright infringers...í'm sure they'll love it here, plenty of water to play around in.
at times it's a royal PITA though. I actually had to go into services and manually disable the firewall/internet sharing service in order to install my own router/firewall software. oh well, guess that means there's no way Joe Schmoe will be able to open up all the ports once again, which makes the net just a little safer for the rest of us.
and both of you are nuts for thinking it matters one tiny damn in the big picture. as am i for thinking my opinion on your opinions does...k, negative thoughts! bad! bad! think happy thoughts!
either you're a troll or just really, really dim. You don't actually have to kill someone/something to get enough material of them for a dna analysis...it's just that you need to convince the ape to open wide while you scrape the inside of its mouth with a cotton swab. Oh wait, we have stun guns these day...
so you're only allowed to say the company name when it's done really loud? As in, when shouted it's the company, when spoken on a normal volume it's the word used when giving directions?
on every option that is new about the game...it says NEW in a big lettered yellow tag
Which basically amounts to saying: hi, you just shelved out full price for the same game as last year, BUT HERE'S SOMETHING NEW!

erect a gallows and publicly hang 'em high
Must...not...make...viagra jokes

ah, yes. that horrible 440BX chipset. what a piece of crap that was indeed...

Does that mean we also get Cowboy Neal and insensitive clod options in the future?

Auchentoshan. Great stuff.
oops, make that *unless* AMD has paid....
:/
serves me right for posting after all that scotch

you're suggesting congress is being ran by Vulcans? Which is nowhere near as funny as actually being moderated interesting for it ;-)
for 1 moment there an image of a callcenter full of indians located on the barren sands of mars crossed my mind...

Except for just about bloody everything?

but not in Soviet Russia?
Sorry, one time, couldn't resist.
