    "Western media" is irresponsible when not checking up lies like "Because of unavoidable reasons, this blog is now temporarily closed". If just a blog would've dissapeared, this would be far less likely to even have been covered. It's not like media fabricated this story on their own; he assisted in creating a plausible foundation for rumors and web chatter quite a bit as well.

    They must believe their country will protect them instead of hunting them down and arresting them.

    They believe so because they are protected.

    Laws not working against you + privacy laws working for you = law is protecting you.

    I wonder if their government will still protect them when the US threatens to impose trade sanctions if they do not get rid of The Pirate Bay.

    As long as these sites are legal, you can bet another one is already up when the time comes to shut down the first.

    What needs to be done is obviously to illegalize generic search sites if they merely aid in mapping illegal content, but how many sites would that cover anyway?

    Funny how such a socialist country retains so many freedoms, yet ironically the USA moves closer and closer to the communist ideal of state-owned property.

    Umm, what's so "funny" about that? Many Swedish socialist parties have liberties as a quite high priority.

    In the good old days, you wiggled a joystick to a monochrome intercourse simulator until your wrist got sore. Nowadays, the intercourse simulators don't get developed anymore, and you aren't supposed to receive physical injuries either?

    They had to figure out who in the MythBusters crew was susceptible to seasickness. Adam was a sure bet because of previous seasickness during the Jaws Special. Sure enough, Adam got quesy within 3 and half minutes on the chair. After a half an hour in the chair, Jamie was still fine. Kari and Tory were both fine as well. Grant became the final test subject. He lasted longer than Adam, but he got sick as well.

    Remedy Testing

    Homoepathic tongue tingler. They used a unnamed spray that you squirt under the tongue as often as needed. Grant was sick within 10 minutes and vomited some small chunks. Adam was sick within 4 minutes.
    Wrist straps: They wore little gray wristbands that are 'Barry Manilow's choice.' Adam was sick within 90 seconds. Grant got sick as well. They've gotten pretty quick with bringing a bucket to Grant.
    Ginger pills: It worked! Adam and Grant were both fine.
    Small shocks on the P6 Accupunture point (on the wrist):Z Both Adam and Grant got sick.
    Placebo: They told Grant and Adam they were getting an over-the-counter pharmaceutical remedy, but they actually gave them vitamins. Adam's reponse: "I hate this [bleeping] chair" after three and a half minutes. Grant: "This is among the most effective, if not the most effective."
    Over-the-counter pharmaceutical drug: Worked on Adam and Grant, but it made them both a little loopy.

    Only thing that worked without any side effects was the ginger pill.

    I also like Imagevenue. I guess it's a matter of personal preference (and IIRC, Imageshack makes a bit more informative theumbnails), but Imagevenue supports batch uploading, custom image resizing (and not just presets), 500 K larger files, but only jpg's. Actually, Imagevenue even supports free FTP via temporary accounts you can get to batch upload even more than 10 jpg at a time.

    Any good game review sites out there that try to be honest; possibly run by game enthusiasts rather than magazines helping companies to promote their products? Sure, such sites may not be allowed/able to review the beta versions and post marketing previews, but merely decent review sites would be interesting to hear about.

    Hmm, that looks as one-sided as those that keep praising the game to me. I mean, MOO3 was pretty bad, but there was still good ideas going on there, at the very least ideas that worked in MOO2 which was "the awesome" according to everyone. Sure, most of it was bad, but this reviewers is just looking for mistakes.

    But then the question arise -- how can a reporter out this "detail" before the politicians writing the bill does?

    If this is intentional to sneak in a mechanism to protect the government, it's really bad, but how bad is it if they'd be incompetent enough to unintentionally formulate a bill that had this major loophole that could be exploited in the future?

    I can't find any respect for the US government for this regardless how I look at it.

    Can you be more specific what's not handled correctly? I can block third party cookies, I can manually delete third party cookies, and I can allow them, and the cookie settings seem to reflect they're not added when they should, and respected when they're allowed. If you're talking about a specific bug here, you must be much more clear about what you're talking about.

    Mark Wilton-Jones is running a little article on the history of the Opera and ACID test

    There's a more useful history about it here (in reverse chronological order), describing what exactly the standard compliance problems were, and how they fixed them, starting with Opera 8.00.

    And go to the Opera Desktop Team blog to download the actual build that works with this. However, note that this build should be treated like a Firefox nightly, and there may be some pretty serious rendering regressions, doing currently more damage to the layout engine than good from following the Acid2 test. ;-)

    A 6 week delay doesn't sound earth shattering to me... I fail to see the problem here, to be honest. Especially if it's about improving usability, an area critical for Linux adoption, which is one of the main purposes for this particular distro.

    To me, this feels basically like delaying an extra security heavy distro 6 weeks to implement verify a new security protocol implementation works correctly.

    Microsoft, however, contends it has gone above and beyond industry requirements for documentation.


    LOL, MS may actually speak the truth, and "inadequate" and "self-contradictory" may exactly be what the technical docs are. :-)
