So Billy probably thinks very little of Red Hat. When Red Hat actually achieves some actual financial success then maybe he'll raise an eyebrow before he sets his sights on destroying the little company.

You should be careful with your assumption that Open Source software is automatically "superior" to other kinds of software.
Right now I'm 22. I've been thinking about my own financial situation in concerns to my retirement since I was 15. I've already set myself up so that I won't need social security or a pension. I don't even expect social security to be around when I'm old enough to be eligible for it. There's nothing preventing someone my age from gathering and then properly investing his/her resources, both financial and time, in order to save up a huge amount for retirement. So for me, car theives are the bigger threat.

Does the immature desire for online companies to try to function in this world without advertising revenue still exist? Do you not know that Google has paid ads, in text form, on their site as well? And that they derive a lot of revenue by being the engines under AOL's and Yahoo's search engines?

The community that would pay isn't large enough to support a company.
They aren't slitting the throats of babies. Its just marketing to children. When has marketing ever caused you harm? Sheesh. The kids get marketed too, the kids get burned, they learn something which is what growing up is all about. You'd think they were cooking fetuses from all the belly-aching people are doing around here.

So any loser who spends too much time in their bedrooms on a PC playing EverQuest is automatically a misunderstood intellectually superior young person who felt left out because the jocks got all the attention and success? Do you REALLY expect anyone to believe the crap your spewing?
And what about the intelligent people who simply use their smarts to get really good jobs and high pay. Do they not get enough awards for their natural talents that easily compare with the jocks?

MA has had biometric licenses for years. As more and more states get them your opportunities for getting them in states without such a system decrease.

Regular commercial billboards do, but the people postering don't. The fact that only the people who post those posters benefit is what makes them so especially henious.
If it were possible to level the technological playing field for developing nations, yes that WOULD be nice. But are we so sure that using Open Source would be the way to achieve that?
I'm talking about a world where the developed countries are filled with MCSE's and the developing world is using open source. Perhaps they may come to view their open source tools as the "ghetto" versions that the rich Europeans and Americans no longer wish to play with. A question they may ask themselves is "If open source is so good, why do so many Americans/Europeans run Windows on the desktop and proprietary Unix/ or WindowsNT/2k in the workplace?" They may simply end up NOT wanting to use them.
