I went to the developer site and looked all over the Wiki, and I saw mugshot.org. I see your (potential) projects, software clients and web functions, but I can't tell exactly what the aim is. Where is the tie that binds all of this?
Anyone can respond, I'm sorry to point my question at the developers. I just want a more fleshed out proposal. The summary would have been a good place to put it, but below will be fine.
This is not supposed to be a yuppie convenience machine! It's supposed to be a barebones tough-as-nails learning tool for kids who won't have access to anything else! The only reasons I could see any sane person with normal options (ebay) buying this would be:...
I think you missed the whole point of selling them for $300. They want to raise money - who cares what people are using them for. One of the best things that could happen is that a bunch of people will find uses for them here in industrial countries and effectively supply one for two kids somewhere else.
Who cares? The more people that have them the better. If we want to give them custom software, we should have the model in hand. Even if it is just users asking for features, that is development.
I prefer these links too. I want the link to be on the verb "PC World writes that..."; or an adjective (or adjective type phrase) "open source developer....".
The summary shouldn't read like a begining of a news story - the links are functional, just out of place. Look at older stories compared to today.
BTW, why do I have to post this every freaking time Diebold comes up on slashdot? Well maybe this will brighten your day: Diebold posters, and my favorite
Let me ask you this, does iTunes allow any advanced queries or scripting? MediaMonkey will basically allow VB style scripting to not only manage your library but to come up with some creative playlists (there is one available to come up with an artist, album and even track of the day - check the forums for more).
I use Winamp a lot. iTunes for Windows is nothing at all (plus it doesn't work with any other MP3 player). So MediaMonkey still gets my pick. Look through their forums and you'll get a feel for why. The program does cost money, and is heavily Winamp (licensed from AOL), but has a few open holes that can be used to a lot of powerful stuff. iTunes for Windows is basically a music store.
No doubt though, more features than iTunes. iTunes maybe great on a Mac, but unless you are going to buy one to manage your music then I'd say MM is your best shot. Besides Apple has a very simple way of doing things, and when you build up a large media collection (I've got 40+ days of continuous audio) then you need something that might get complicated (if you need it to be).
It's not exactly propaganda, it's different types of advertising. There are three basic types of ads, logos, pathos and ethos . With logos style advertising ads are trying to get you to make a logical choice: the BMW 325i is a better choice than that Toyota that you were looking at for x reasons.
Ethos advertising matches with what you are talking about. Drink Pepsi® because young people do, rent Avis because our commercials are funny, buy a XBox because it looks cool and our logo is sweet. These ads don't do anything but add to the mind share. You like the commercial, you might just end up being a loyal fan for life. Think about all of those ads that you see that have nothing to do with the product, or rather the ones that never tell you how to get their product. When have you heard Coca-Cola list the stores or restaurants where you can buy Coke? You won't because they know their product is the same as the competition, they just want to build brand loyalty (not to mention Coke can be bought just about anywhere worldwide). You know the product is the same as the rest available when the commercials don't say anything about it - then you can buy the cheapest available replacement. Many times you'll see normal goods advertised using the ethos method/style.
Pathos advertising isn't seen as much as the other two, but think of that great commercial with the crying Indian... or even better "The starving children."
The Late Show (Letterman) does this type of thing when they do skits like, 'Will It Float?'
Dave will ask what we are playing for and for a second they will flash a picture of the item. The announcer gets really into saying the name, like "Black and Decker can opener", but they only show the item for a second. I've actually been wondering for a while if they were being paid for some of their spots.
It is basically WinAmp with more database functions and so forth... give it a whirl. It's great for tagging (uses Amazon and even fetches album pics) and has iPod support. The down side is that some features aren't unlocked until it is paid for (cracked, serial'd, etc).
Supports most WinAmp plug-ins too!

Army® from Sony will soon be on the PSP using Wi-fi and will be the worlds first MMOCOFPSRTSG (Massive multiplayer co-operative first person shooter real time strategy game). Expect a trailer early 2007 and its release sometime after Vista.
These are free shows that are broadcast throughout the world unencrypted, why would you want to record the Flash version? This is getting ridiculous. Only on slashdot do you read about people who steal free shit.
We are all now victims of a DMCA lawsuit!
We've all got something to hide.
Just be happy you didn't ride the elevators at Redmond, they just crash.
God was a woman.

Cryptozoology?
That's fun for everyone!
you can choose to have it boot to the dashboard instead of loading the game automatically
I like this feature as my firewall blocks Xbox Live unless I initiate the login through the Dashboard.
I would advise seller "ebay3802" to not sell to buyer "billmoney" because the user has too much negative feedback. User billmoney has 32,800 positive feedbacks while having 97,400 negative feedbacks.

Glue a port powered, USB hard drive to it.
Don't mess with Terri, she's Real Ultimate Power!!!
You better get a life right now!

Bush and Co have done a great job advertising for terrorists.
Should have read...
Bush and Co has done a great job being terrorists.
the fact remains that Diebold has shown themselves to be capable of making reasonably secure ATM machines.
That run Windows?

don't use electronic voting machines?
They will be the knife that will (finally) kill democracy in these United States.
[This] is just closing the barn door after the horse has already left.
No, it isn't. There are still horses in the barn, my identity hasn't been stolen yet.
Except for encryption, but this makes encryption worthless.
It's all the same.
