I forward all my traffic through a proxy service. I have a separate list for Chinese websites, their traffic does not go through the proxy. This way I don't have to worry about the new websites Chinese government decides to block.
There is a large Internet cultural difference between Chinese population and foreign population. A typical Chinese citizen never really needs to go over the firewall. Pretty much everything has a domestic version.
Shouldn't legislative branch be deciding whether genes are patentable? Maybe nature discoveries shouldn't be patentable? This is almost like patenting a breed of sheep.
I think Gnome should focus on improving usability rather than focusing on all those touch/table novelty features, considering how much complaint they are getting.
As you guys probably know, half of the websites that feature NASA TV stream are blocked in China. Connection to NASA's website is not very stable. I am not sure if it is because they cannot handle the load, or the GFW is jamming the network.
I have my own OpenVPN tunnel, and it seemed that NASA's official TV stream was particularly slow.
So it would be nice if anyone with some experience of Chinese Internet can post some links.
I wish I was in the UK (where I normally live), so I can get a stable stream.
I guess it is about the time to take out the magnetron out of the microwave oven, and power them using car batteries, distribute them around Olympic venues. That will teach those police a lesson.
On a serious note, has Ofcom officially sold those unlicensed band to the IOC?
If a company built a bridge and it collapsed, that company would be likely to face lawsuit and fine. Engineers take safety and security seriously, so should software engineer.
I think almost everyone is fine with government regulating dangerous unproven medical treatments with potentially horrific side-effects.
The issue in the courts there is, that Dr's were arguing that they were using your own body to treat itself, which they are...much like a skin graft..the FDA isn't involved there. The FDA wants its hands in this...and somehow have successfully gotten the courts to say that taking your own cells out...and putting them back in...is a foreign drug being introduced into the body...and in there jurisdiction.
Sad...this one is a battle that should have been won by the doctors, as that it has been showing great progress in many areas....hope this can be appealed and overturned.
You do know that the injected stem cells could easily become cancerous and kill the patient? Regulating medicine is what FDA set out to do.
Proper regulation gets rid off snake oil, so the patient can pick those proven treatments. In this particular situation, it is more than getting rid off snake oil. It is about safety.
You can get Debian running under chorrot very easily on Android. However I am not sure if this is what you want. I actually got Debian running in a chroot environment on my old Archos 101 tablet. I can tell you that the main problem I experienced was typing the commands.
Typing on a glass screen felt very different to typing on a keyboard. Somehow I lost the ability to touch type... That was no fun when you try to issue command in bash. Then I got a USB keyboard for the tablet, but it looked even more awkward than a netbook.
I think if you are serious about scripting, get a netbook with 3G connection. The bottom line is that your new phone have to have a keyboard.
Perhaps they should have a new set of law, in which if one's right to freedom of expression is to be restricted, it needs be brought to a court, like habeas corpus, except it is for your right to freedom of expression.
I thought the whole point of Bitcoin is that it is anonymous.
If I want to use money conveniently and have a degree of anonymity, why don't I use prepaid debit card? e.g. those prepaid VISA card?

China loves inventing its own standard, so it is harder for foreign companies to enter China.
If you have problem with using the modifier keys, you can turn the "Sticky Keys" on in your Windows Control Panel.
So is this America's message for people in other parts of the world who are protesting for their basic right of free expression?
You guys seriously need to sort this out, otherwise the Chinese government is going to treat your freedom talks as laughing stocks.
But people are buying iPads and the lack of MS Office is teaching a whole new generation that they don't need Office anymore.
Has anyone actually managed to type a proper document/book on a tablet device without using the keyboard yet?

Gnome needs to go quietly into the night. they have consistently ignored user feedback and are now confused as to why people are turning their back.
I reckon that's one more step toward irrelevance...
I reckon Wikipedia should start semi-protecting all those pages, so the random staffers can't create new accounts and remove embarrassing contents.
Yes, it would be out of order, since I cannot elect anyone.

They should have dropped the whole thing, you know...

Liberals are happy with the expansion of the government.
Conservatives are scared shitless that without this power someone might smoke something they found in their backyard.
I wonder what did the conservatives say, after they discovered that thalidomide caused abnormalities in the new borns?
Has anyone tried contacting killerking247@yahoo.com yet? That email account must be bloody famous right now.

In the land of the free, the creative industry finds creative ways to restrict people's freedom. How ironic.
I think Apple is destroying the future of the tech industry.
I am surprised that the environmentalists haven't picked this up...
Surely you shouldn't be wearing one of these when driving?
You could have used a bunch of head-mounted camera to create the demo, no display required.
