I've always hated the end game of Civ's. It's always felt... dissatisfying. Early/Mid game was always fun but if it lasted to the end game, I usually ended up quitting and starting over.
This newly announced game has so many paths it could take and the possibilities are truly endless, if the dev's decide to make it so that is. I had faith, but after Civ V, the Sid Meier's brand has faltered in my eyes.
(i've been playing his games since Sid Meier's Civilization (holy shit that was a long time ago), my favorite, to this day, is still Gettysburg)
Seriously... 100 mile range? At 5000mph? That range doesn't add up to me, but regardless, whoever is on the receiving end of this bad boy doesn't stand a chance to defend themselves
I'm beta testing Elder Scrolls Online as I'm typing this. So far absolutely fantastic! Love the deep customization of your character and the graphics are amazing. Rockin an HD 5770 1gb and I'm still easily hitting my cap at 60 fps, havent seen it dip below 60 fps yet.
Rings? Cmon? I can't be the only one who instantly makes this connection...
As with any technology, wait until the public gets its' hands on it. I can easily see this type of propellant being used in roads, elevators, in our shoes (fuck stairs - we Americans are lazy)... this will be fun
Haven't you seen South Park? What if you left the seat up and some woman needed to pee?!!?! We all know woman can't take the extra 2 seconds to check if the seat is down, instead she will call you and ask you to lower it even thought youre at work!! Just remote in and lower the seat, bam!
Have they really only made $430 million? If I were them, I'd look back and wonder where the royalty negotiations went wrong... That seems like a low number for something that is quite literally everywhere.
"expected to be in more than five billion devices by the time the patent expires."
~$0.08 per device for one of the most significant and widely known technologies in use today, someone got a good deal, wasn't the Aussies
Devices where users only have to plug in and switch to the related input on their TV will win. Regardless of whatever techies moan and groan about, simplicity and elegance is what sells (did you not pay attention during the initial iPhone craze?)
No one is going to want to buy an empty usb drive, install their own choice of OS, required streaming programs, etc, after-which they then have to CONFIGURE it (I know, scary word).. see where I'm going with this though? No average Joe or Jane is going to do that, they will spend the seemingly cheap $35? (I can't remember the price) for this fancy stick that has the word Google written on it.
This is eerily reminding me of the fall from power the Roman Senate experienced at the end of the republic.
I now could foresee an actually revolution. Not saying it is going to happen, but of all the possible roads we could travel, the probability of this particular road being taken has dramatically increased, imho.
And not a revolution of blood - that could also happen (there are *a lot* of crazy people in the US all of sudden) - but of the people finally rising up to the challenge of voting for candidate representatives for their district who actually represent them, and following up on what their representative is actually doing!
I am slowly seeing it start to happen in mainstream media, and I mean slowlyy, but I do see it; They are finally, barely starting to realize what the majority of their viewers actually believe and not all this bullshit. Albeit, the recent come back of Palin "the contributor" to Fox and Friends has casted a darker shadow...
If all you had to do was juke the missile being fired at you by running until it was fired, then i think there would be, atleast i hope there would be, a few more, above average intelligent insurgents than there are today.
Not after what happened in Boston will an unintended bag in a public space be acceptable. At least in any major metropolitan area.
The real winner will be someone who has the authority to stand there or the ability to blend into a crowded area. I would be security, maintenance, work the register, greeter at wal-mart, whatever; become a part of the building your scalping from so your unattended bag can be hidden and no one will say "OMG BOMB"

you're assuming everyone has a smartphone. this idea is completely cutting off non-smartphone users
Are you new to electronics?
When all their guided missiles rely on said system? I'd call that a major breach of national security
Avid Ex-Diablo fan.
Never again, you killed the franchise Blizzard.
Oh cmon, how many of you out there got into programming solely because PHP was so easy to learn.
Honestly. How many?
My point wasn't how does Azure suddenly make this possible. My point was how does cloud computing in general make this happen?
Anything you do on the "cloud", i can do in my basement.
Perfect timing on this post!

Will keep you updated as I play this weekend.
(It's only been online for 1.5 hours)
Firstly: Yes, I agree that whatever price Facebook offered, if it offered anything, to SnapChat is grossly exaggerated and out of proportion.
However, everyone seems to forget that SnapChat is in touch with almost 99% of all youth and a very large percentage of all smartphone users.
A "customer base" MUCH larger than anything PrimeSense will EVER dream of touching.
This whole thing is f**ked up.
Give the money to ones affected by the CW. Who cares if they, OPCW, needs donations, the state they are disarming should pay for it!
Nobel Peace Prize my ass. Nobel War Prize
Another Slashdot Fail.... Go back to school ffs.
Because there isn't a huge vote coming up in Congress about Syria or anything... Everything on the interwebz is a lie!

that the vaccine won't be patented.

Too bad this poster is AC, I'd be owning this call out.

I still have hope we will wake up... Eventually

Good way to spread awareness and possible outcomes of drone oversight....
YOU'RE GOING 2 MPH OVER THE SPEED LIMIT! YOU HAVE 3 SECONDS TO DECELERATE!
*1 sec later*
DID I SAY 3? TOO LATE!
*fires hellfire missile*
Looks like a pretty low-budget game. Looks *entirely* like an EVE spin-off. Haven't played it, but im sure it is fun in its own unique way...
Just from looking at the website and its contents, the art department is probably one guy who is also the lead developer and VP of marketing....

I would like to see an official response/perspective/justification/anything about this from Obama himself, not his administration.
