It does not have much to do with the edgy games, it has to do with the number of games in general. If I were a consumer, I would want the machine which has the most games and the one which most of my friends have so I could trade games with them. Of all my friends, most of whom are in the game industry (and some even working on GC titles) only 1 has a Gamecube but they all have PS2's. They also all have Xbox's, but thats primarily used with a mod chip so they can play games that are free (as in free).
I work with Dell for our workstation and laptop purchases and not once in the last 3 years have they sent me a quote in a Word document.
They have a system that links the quote with your customer ID and gets generated as an HTML file which gets emailed to you. All automagically.
To whom ever that thought they could change a word document quote and expect to get that price, I got some beach front property to sell you in Kansas. Silly fool.
Better than netflix my ass. DvdBarn blows ass. The games section is like going to the left over bin at the supermarket with games that are older than most people on/.
So far, there is nothing better than netflix which is legal. You are nuts.
This whole thing was very nicely animated in an IMAX movie called Cosmic Voyage. It was narrated by Morgan Freeman and the graphics and sound were amazing. If you have a nice home theater setup (too bad if you dont! =] ) get Cosmic Voyage from Netflix, turn it up and enjoy.
The fluidity of the animation from a quark to the edge of the known universe is what makes it amazing. So it ends up going further out than this one did.
all the other products requiring "activation", someone will release a hack and there unbeatable, perfect scheme to get people to stop piracy will fail.
get the Sony DRU-510. It handles all standards and the firmware is upgradeable to support future standards. It is pricey, but is also the best one available currently. If you pay more than 300 for the external usb2/firewire version, you got screwed.
ya thats the idea... let me get a new number with the same provider just to switch to a new provider... i soon hope i can tell tmobile to fuck off... one can only wish.
i have a bs in swe and have a ccnp. when the coder jobs aren't up to spec, then the network engy jobs are a good backup. Networking is my favorite as well. It never hurts to know more.
I went shopping for remote controls and checked all the models out at the local Home Theater store. Let me tell you, a remote should be easy to use and functional. This is not it. Anything more than a Hometheatre Master MX-500 is a waste.
you know, after reading/. for so long, i am able to see a trend with other/. readers. essentially, most of you all are negative assholes. if it isnt linux then it is shit. if it isnt from a maker like dell or what not, then it is shit. just be happy there is someone offering this which may cause the big manufacturers to come down on those inflated prices. sheesh.
HDTV decoders in there present form receive both HD signals and SD or regular signals.
The local channels you get already have HD signals broadcasting over the air... most all of primetime shows have HDTV signals... but the majority do not. They will however... it just takes some time.
It doesnt matter what any large company does these days... someone will find a way to circumvent it. Many different technologies come to mind... I remember one which cost the developer a ton of money to create... and then an 8 line perl script to defeat.
the us gov't thinks it can step in and control the internet... which I find to be funny. I realize most of the internet's content resides in the states, but if my net radio station is hosted on canadian or other out of the country locations, its not illegal.
Talk about a bunch of idiots (RIAA) thinking they can stop anything on the net...
I have personally sent out emails saying I would end world hunger, put the earth at peace, make the israelis and palestinians stop fighting, wake up earlier in the morning, start working out, eat better, but to date not a one of them has done anything other than sit in an inbox, get deleted or just plain ignored. Its MS ya know, whats good for them is never good for us.
First of all, I dont think there are that many users of ATI products who would consider themselves to be gamers. 3d support is important in the gaming world and I for one would not use an ATI especially for those games that require hi frame pre second.
I have an ATI card, but it is solely used for its tv card add on in my windoze machine with my digital video camera. for this, Ati rocks it. for games? I think Not.
I am included in the jumping ship. It seems altavista.com used to give you what you were looking for, but in recent history, it has been way off. google... right on the money most of the time.
The software developers are the ones who are responsible for the quality of these games. They get very large binders filled with specifics of how the console manufacturer wants the game. The final say is Microsoft's, you are right, but all in all, if the code doesnt work, blame the developer.

There is only 1 way to stop piracy.....
DROP THE HIGH PRICES ON SOFTWARE!
Simple enough.

it has always been known that brain tissue does not regenerate...
Anyone seen a screenshot history for X? That would be more interesting than windows.
hahaha. its true. its strange how recently many folks here at the job (mostly solaris and linux shop) are starting to get mac's. damn fruit.

ya rite.
All you need is an HDTV decoder. This can be a directv receiver or dishnetwork receiver or it can be a standalone.
:)
regardless, hdtv signals are over the air and do not require any cables to receive!
