I used to have similar problem. Just bring the essential keys, the most important is probably your house keys, the outer door, if possible hide the inner door key somewhere after the first door, ditto with your girfriend's place key. I kept the office keys in my office bag, just bring one key of your transport, motorbike, bike or car, attach each of it on different keychain, you won't be able to ride all three at a time anyway. Keep all unused keys in one place in your home, put the roof key with those keys. There, at one time you probably will only bring three keys at a time;) (your place's main door, your GF, your vehicle key)
Better yet, is it possible to create a cd with virtual machine or emulator that could be bootable OR just run from windows automatically? and run a minimal linux/BSD distro, directly to a web browser, to the banks' website.
True enough. I read somewhere that their sexual behavior is closest to human, even in the rural area in orangutans native habitat, people told their girls to be careful at night while walking alone because they could be raped by orangutans.
yes, and in return Somalia becomes US' 51st state. US could do it, however it's really really outside their jurisdiction. At the moment all foreign countries (to somalia) only there to protect their interests.
wrong, volcanic soil are mostly rich, therefore many settlements is near volcano. I live in one of the most volcanic area in the world, Indonesian Archipelago, and Java, the most dense island has some active vulcanoes. I think geothermal never really start because most first world countries doesn't have enough volcanoes to harness it, where here (IMHO the perfect natural lab, because of ring of fire) our government lack of willing to pursue such energy (they plan to build a nuclear reactor nearby)
Is this a joke? I read some ads here in Indonesia about Acer's linux notebook, when I ran to their shop, they can't provide one, and mind you it's written Linux Basic edition. After doing some research online, the distro is Linpus, with only Bash shell, and no working desktop out of the box, remind me one of acer's campaign on OOBE (Out Of the Box Experience) in 90s. Finally I settle with HP-Compaq, with DOS and re-install it with Ubuntu. So, if now they're pushing "aggresively" I believe it's only to get more discount from microsoft
After reading the book, one thing stuck in me regarding copyright issue. Somehow J.K. Rowlings manage to slip that in the book, the time Bill and Harry discuss about the ownership of the Godric's sword. The goblin always thought that the ownership belongs to the maker, not to the buyer. What do you slashdot lot think?
hmm, I'm always curious to hear such comments, music exists waaaay before even LP invented. I for one, started ripping my CD collection to MP3 since 1996, I think at present I have 5 or 6 CDs of MP3 songs. Is it difficult for a person to spare like 365 days his computer(s) ripping from the 9 years timespan? Initially it took 6t to 7 hours to rip one cd, nowadays it's getting faster. granted it's easier to just buy the mp3 these days (not in my country tho, it's easier to buy illegal copyrighted material at the public areas, and I'm not proud of this).
Hmm, I've actually lived in a remote village with little electricity for 1 month during my college years (part of the curicullum at that time), what's ironic is I'm in Electrical Engineering department.
Anyway, the main public source of light is the moonlight. When the moon shine little children playing outside, and make some noises from wooden apparel esp. the one to grind rice, called 'lesung' (FYI this is Indonesia and our main meal is rice). And when there's no moon the sky is just lighted by thousands of stars, just like in the planetarium. I think live without computer is not as bad as I thought previously (before went to the village).
Alas, most of the magic gone when electricity came in. Most of the children prefer to watch TV. I wonder how many customs like this lost all over the world.
I gave several private lessons on OpenOffice to computer illiterate people. The mouse button question popped many times, even tough I already explained, even avoid using the second button (most of the command is accessible thru menu/icon bar anyway). Everytime I said please "click" they're almost always ask, while holding the mouse "which button should I press?". Actually I want to ask if there's cheap single button mouse for computer illiterate people (Apple mouse is just too expensive). Maybe it's easy for us, technical people to learn the difference between the two buttons, but certainly incorrect for some people. FYI, some of these people can use basic DOS command, without mouse. Probably because mouse buttons doesn't have any marking (which is click, which is right-click;)
I am sick to the guts of all these whinging losers who expect linux to be "finished now".
So which OS is "finished"? Windows? OSX? Solaris? Then what's that extra numbers that keep increasing? (Windows 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 3.11, 95, 2000, etc? OS X.1, X.2, X.3, X.4?)
I believe what microsoft meant is to gradually reduce ilegal software, and use legal software instead. However, last year Indonesian goverment launch initiative declaration called Indonesia Goes Open Source (IGOS). reference: http://www.igos.or.id/. the declaration stated the move to use open source softwares in the goverment agencies. Three ministries signed the declaration.
On wednesday 23 February 2005, Microsoft launched XP Home Indonesian version (limited for computer with 128 MB ram and 40 GB harddisk, and other limitations). The ministry of communication and information, and ministry of research and development (both ministries signed the IGOS declaration above) stated that there will be no conflict of interest between IGOS and Microsoft's product.
9 March 2005. A well known business newspaper questioning goverments decision on software use. An official note, dated December 2004 said the use of legal software (read closed license softwares) within goverment agencies.
FYI, along with this announcement the police start sweeping computer stores and internet cafe (AFAIK in Bandung, Makassar and Semarang) for illegal software (from the business p.o.v this is no more than the police bullying them as usual).
I'm from Indonesia, even here I think only a few people buy legal, indonesian version of windows. Compared to pirated version it's still expensive. Please don't think that company over here is too poor to buy the software, they can buy $2000,- worth hardware. It's just not feasible under Indonesian business practice. It's cheaper to pay the authorities (read: corrupted police officer) than to pay microsoft. Mind you, this is one of the most corrupted goverment in the world, and the standard average salary in the goverment is very low
What bothers me most is here, in a third world country most people still 'steal' windows. How can they protect others when their own products are not steal proof? BTW some cd stores here sell roughly 50% pirated music and 100% pirated software (well, maybe 99% if you don't count linux as pirated-be warned though, the linux sold here is the complete comercial redhat, mandrake, suse, etc distros, so I said 100% pirated.
That means almost everyday throughout the year here (yeah, we have rainy season but the sun is still there most of the time in a year), not after 6 p.m tho.
I think UK's climate is colder than Australian? I'm curious because most people I met didn't move to UK because of the climate (I thought Manchester also rainy-I live there for one year). Sorry, couldn't help because I think it's a little bit odd.

Hmm... since I'm Indonesian myself probably I can tell you some more information. Our languages letters are arranged more like italian, spanish or japanese written in latin letters. this results more letters ended with vocals like aiueo, I think this is the reason your friend have difficulties to read those words.
One of them will be destroyed, as demonstrated by Bender

However do we wants to find aliens? (after watching avatar movie, and reading your thread, I'm pretty sure yes we do)
Agreed, even less on ARM processor. http://techvideoblog.com/reviews/80-android-laptop-menq-easypc-e790/. There's still a possibility that google will port it's Chrome+Android to this platform.

Porsche??? how dare you.... BeOS is THE Batmobile, not just some lame european sports car.
With Nano technology, I think you could just pocket or bag it, no need to park. (finding items in a bag.... well that's another story).
