I was speaking of Shoutcast radio (which used Shoutcast.) Listening to Shoutcast "stations" is an alternative to listening to Clear Channel broadcasted stations. One is an alternative for the other.
I thought it was Clear Channel that started to try to silence some internet radio stations a few years back... maybe I'm wrong though.
I really don't care about Dicom viewers. I really don't care about your search results. And I know how to use a search engine, I've been using them since Webcrawler. But the amount of bunk results I get doing searches is increasing every day and I've been having to dig through more and more crap in order to get to the relevant results. Just search for a generic drug name and see how many "online pharmacies" come up, and how many of the pages have acutal drug information on it and you'll know what I'm talking about.
Its partly because when we switched we were told by our friends that we would not be able to find any software on the Mac, so we assume its not there (I'm a recent switcher.) Hell I even have heard people argue that "Apple doesn't have many applications because there aren't any development tools yet for the Mac."
I know the RIAA can bust you for downloading music, and the MPAA can bust you for downloading movies... is there any large organization (other than HBO, CBS, etc) that is looking to bust people for downloading television shows?
I have in the past downloaded shows when my VCR or DVR crapped out and didn't tape them so I was curious of the legalities of this.
I may be voting for Kerry but it sure the hell isn't because of Edwards. That jerk used us (North Carolina) as a stepping stone to run for President, he didn't even serve a term.
I love it how people who use Macs are automatically labeled "zealots."
I've built PLENTY of computers, I have a Windows PC at home that I built and most of my PCs at work are Frankensteins of other PCs around the office.
As far as gaming goes though, yeah your PC sounds nice... but in a year or so that 9800XT isn't gonna cut it, and you'll have to run out and buy a $500 video card to play the newest games at the fastest framerate. Or you could spend half that and buy a Playstation 3 (or whatever will be the latest and greatest game console) and keep it for 3 or 4 years.
I'm through with getting a PC and upgrading it every year. I bought a Mac so I could keep it for a good 3 or 4 years. When you get a mortgage, I'm sure you'll feel the same way.
So a computer that doesn't play games = a low end typewriter?
Look at it this way... you can spend $2500 on a respectable gameing PC or you can spend $1700 on a decent Mac and $150 on a PS2. Then you have a decent computer, a decent game system, and $650 to spare.:P
Are you seriously saying that cmd in Windows is as functional as a terminal on Linux/Mac?
Wow.
THIS is something I can get into. I like my movies with a side of RMS.
They couldn't outsource the coal miner's job to a site in India though.

I discovered many a band by listening to Shoutcast radio.
Of course, Clearchannel only wants you to "discover" the bands on their radiostations so Shoutcast is evil.
Hmm, the X-Box handheld would probably weight around 10 lbs and be twice the size of an Atari Lynx.
But it would have Halo!
The GBA SP is only $79.99 because the DS is coming out for $149.99.
I remember paying $100 for my original Gameboy (or did it debut at $120? I can't remember.)

Until Shutterfly either goes belly-up or changes their user policy. Then you're screwed.
I never said thats what I did. I googled for all of my software. Only said I understood where they were coming from.
Google's quickly becoming worthless anyway, so your smartass comment means nada.

Don't use Konfabulator so I don't really care.
I'm a Windows dev myself professionally so "hmmm... don't think so!"
He's just pissed because now no one will want his memory-hogging, buggy as hell software. :P :-D
Konfabulator is not a system-monitoring utility.
Good to know!

Actually my version use to cause a flatline sound on the Apple II... I remember doing it at school and pissing off my teacher.
Read the blurb... y o u c a n ' t. :P
(Unless you happen to have a G5 Powerbook, which I highly doubt.)
10 PRINT "He's dead, Jim."
20 BEEP
30 GOTO 10
RUN
Yeah, and I think thats sad. The Republicans should have put someone else up to bat, perhaps McCain. And the Dems shoulda put up Dean. Just my $.02.
I may be voting for Kerry but it sure the hell isn't because of Edwards. That jerk used us (North Carolina) as a stepping stone to run for President, he didn't even serve a term.
I prefer him over Cheney though.
Thats the route I took... well I got a Gamecube though.

I am using my vote to try to put a spotlight on election reform.
:)
I think the election in general is doing a pretty good job on putting the spotlight on election reform.
