I just checked out Paul Thurrott's review. I love reading his stuff... first he says that Apple copied Spotlight from Microsoft (because Microsoft said that they were gonna improve search before Apple introduce Spotlight), then he shows off MSN Search which looks suspiciously like Spotlight. And if thats not funny enough, he gives us this little gem:
And then consider that competitors such as Apple and Google tried to preempt Microsoft by announcing similar features, and yet were both unable to deliver final versions before Microsoft simply shipped the MSN Toolbar Suite.
Thats funny... isn't MSN Search a... beta? So "final version" = "beta"? Explains a lot!
At first I thought that having no screen would be a horrible move, but it makes sense.
I use my flash based player when I go for a jog and I don't think I've ever looked at the screen. Actually the screen has so much dust on the inside of it (brilliant Creative construction), you can barely see it anyway.
$5 says that the Apple Marketing Machine calls this the iPod Sport.
Its not that I don't like the Mario side-games, its just I'm sore that the only "pure" Mario game (by pure I mean platformer) they've put out for the gamecube is Super Mario Sunshine. And that game (IMHO, I know it got good reviews) was horrid.
Have you been in a coma for the past year or something? Nintendo has a new console out called the Gamecube. Over the past year or so Nintendo has put out Mario Kart Double Dash, Mario Tennis, Mario Golf, and Paper Mario 2 (the sequel to a game that was released for their past console, the Nintendo 64.)
I remember when Mario was a somebody, but now Nintendo is insistent on putting him in every type of game EXCEPT a platformer. Lately they've put out a cart racing game, a golf game, an RPG and a tennis game. Then they announce "here it comes! another Mario game!" and what is it? Baseball!
What happened to "Mario 128"??? Is Mario Sunshine the only thing us Gamecube players are going to get? Say it isn't so!
Please forgive me, I didn't mean to say that Bejeweled 1 or 2 has ad-ware, I meant ActiveX in general. (a lot of spyware/adware is installed via ActiveX... I was just saying that since Mac doesn't support ActiveX then we don't have the same adware problems although as a result, apparently we can't play Bejeweled 2)
Though I'm kinda let down that Bejeweled 2 doesn't work on my Mac! Are you guys planning on supporting it?
True... the rest of the novel was great. It was like he wrote it and couldn't figure out how to end it so he just tacked on an ending.
Get sued by Michael Crichton for stealing his idea. ;)
Uh, they didn't. Show me the page on Nintendo.com that calls it the Gameboy DS.
Um one's a toolbar which is going to be released for free anyway and one is an OPERATING SYSTEM that is definately NOT going to be free.
:P
I'm guessing this is why Tiger isn't an open beta.
Yeah its beta... just like the MSN Toolbar.
Thats funny... isn't MSN Search a... beta? So "final version" = "beta"? Explains a lot!
I'd buy it.

If I had to compile this program using a 386 I'd shoot myself. It takes 10 minutes to compile on a 2 GHz machine as it is.
:P
"Hello world" != real work
Go for it, humor us.
I'm honestly interested... what are the rational accounts for his specific claims?
That wasn't MY point either. Read the post again. :P
I think they should make the next Mario game Mario 2005 and then Mario XP.

See? I can be a smartass too!

Is this the much heralded Mario 128 that we've been hearing so much (ok nothing) about???? Could it be???????
What? Mario Baseball?! Come on, Nintendo... Mario Sunshine can't be your only Mario platformer to offer for the system!
Yeah, Nintendo isn't a big bloated company that engages in acts such as price fixing. Oh wait, they are. My bad.
Thats easy, you can't.
:P
Of course you can't buy an entry-level Dell laptop for $300 either.
Its so easy to get Quicktime to quit displaying the nag screen and just about every Apple user who didn't want to pay for Quicktime has done it.
:P
Simply set your system clock for some date far into the future, say 2050. Open Quicktime. Close Quicktime. There you go... no nags until 2050.
Or you could pay for Pro like I did
I'm currently playing Half Life 2 via email. I've take 5 steps so far, this game rocks!
I've been playing Quake via snail mail for a few years now, I think I just killed my first monster...
...and then a year later they make it on again!

If you didn't cut your teeth on Gopher, you're still an NFG.
Well I did, so I'm not. IMHO if you cut your teeth on Gopher, you're still an NFG, NFG.
hello, Internet Explorer for mac? I know it sucks, but its better then nothing.
Hello, IE for the Mac doesn't allow ActiveX controls to run on the Mac.... thank GOD.
I'd rather be spyware free then have Bejeweled 2.
So U2 and Queen Latifa are obscure? What color is the sky on your planet?
