They haven't figured out that the only high powered 4 cylinder machines that are worth a shit have half as many wheels as the base Civic. Or, like you say, a banging turbo from the factory.

Of course, I blame the American drag race scene. The real problem is that Americans are big fans of straight line acceleration. Cars that can stop and handle aren't big sellers over here:( The rice brigade takes cars that *can* handle and stop, screw that all up, stick on a fart pipe, and call it a day.

At what point is the one minute demarcation acceptable? Furthermore, having things written in stone is to your benefit. It should prevent some manager from being capricious and calling your 7:31 'late' and the hot secretary's 7:31 'on time'.

In essence, the FCC, part of the executive branch, is being given equal status to Congress. To override the FCC, Congress has to pass a new law (which the President has threatened to veto). Congress would then have to override that veto.... requiring a supermajority to regain *their own lawmaking power*.

Which is as it should be. The FCC is an agent of the President. It is the executive branch in this particular domain. The congress wants to override the executive branch. The president doesn't want this. Therefor, it takes a supermajority to override the president. Pretty much like every other situation where the congress wants to override the executive.

Pretty much since 1783, the executive and legislative branches have been co-equal. Huh, imagine that.

We are not supposed to base analyses of communism on failed models such as the Soviet model. Why then do you think it is any better to base an attack on a semi-failed model of US capitalism? Over the past 200 years, there have been many well-regarded economic analyses that show that only a few markets lead to a single player. Even in those cases, it is unlikely to last except when there is government support. If there is government support (and the US gov't buying tons of, say, MS operating systems IS support) you aren't talking about capitalism. You are talking of a failed attempt at capitalism.
