    There are a lot of features that you need khalmnpr to provide an interface for. But according to 8's startup monitoring, it has the same impact on my boot time that AVG does. I don't mind it from my antivirus, but I have no clue why SetPoint insists on it too.

    Maybe a user-mode .exe is a bad way to implement a HAL. But I've never even tried to write a driver, so what do I know.

    I thought the NSA was doing all this to prevent terrorism. Now its law enforcement?

    Not that I like diddlers, but there were some good reasons to separate intelligence and law enforcement agencies.

    I'd love to not have to use SetPoint (slow, resource hungry jerk that it is), but there is too much functionality I'd lose for my mouse and super-awesome K800 keyboard.

    8.1 lets you scale monitors independently. A very useful change (that I love), but perhaps it is the cause of the problem. I haven't had any problems whatsoever though.

    Could that be due to the newly added ability to independently adjust scaling per monitor? Because that is a feature I LOVE. I can finally read the text on my TV without screwing up my other monitors!

    Classic Shell eradicated all of my Win8/8.1 complaints. And the 'under the hood' and management improvements are totally worth it.

    I spend a lot of time gaming, and I haven't noticed any problems. Could be that the Logitech software prevents it (I have a G5). Especially if its a polling interval issue. As it stands, my only problem with 8.1 is that SweetFX doesn't support it yet.

    Downside - SetPoint is a boot-time killer.

    I've considered that option, but it requires that you follow the person to their destination. And if I'm going to go through the trouble of doing that, I can just explain to them in person why they are bad people. With violence.

    I'd love to be able to tag dangerous drivers so the police can brutalize them at their own leisure.

    Not that I support police brutality in cases other than reckless or rude driving. And none of that namby-pamby Rodney King stuff either. I'm talking Abner Louima.

    Well, the deregulation was on the Federal level, and intended to increase competition. However, on the State and Municipal level, cable companies still get to have a utility company style monopoly.

    And while that is a big drawback to federalism, its still the best way we have to govern such a large nation.

    I noticed in the article about saving money and lives something that was missed here as well. Traffic jams cost money. The number 1 cause of traffic jams? Human drivers doing dumb things. Not just getting into accidents, but trying not miss an exit when they are on the wrong side of the highway, rubbernecking, and other dumb, dumb things.

    Robots will also reliably use their turn signals to indicate a lane change.

    Don't you just love it when taxes get misused? West coast states (I'm thinking mainly of California) have been using gas taxes to discourage its use for environmental reasons. So, when it works, they find that they are now losing revenue they have come to depend on. So they get even stupider.

    Just like how they got hooked on cigarette taxes.

    I'm concerned by the apparent decline in the overall health of iPeople. Why are they so weak that 1.4lbs is too much? Are we seeing the long-term impact of veganism?

    For chrissakes people, eat a burger and get some exercise!
